PULLED OVER

Rant On!
I was pulled over last night because of having my fog lights on!
No ticket, -wasn't doing anything wrong!
Filed a profiling complaint at the police station. DWB
I questioned the officer on duty where it was written that it was illegal... they scuried to find something in PA's code & inspection regs only to point out info on snow plows & aux lights on a light bar... nothing stating that fog lights are illegal!
Rant Off!

I agree and think that you were being profiled as DWB! I used to get pulled over for the same thing in my 1995 mustang GT and now that I have and 05 with those huge fog lights they will draw even more attention! Be ready for lots more DWB tickets. That is why I am getting a license plate with my last name on it and avoid that stupid DWB question of IS THIS YOUR CAR?

I think they just wanted to see your car. How many vehicles on the market have foglamps?

It is eaiser to count the cars w/o foglights...
I even mentioned that 6 SUVs had just past by w/ their on as well -2 Explorers, Yukon/Suburban, 3 Imports (Toyota/Lexus)

I was in my GN going to the track one morning when an officer of the Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled me over, saying that my window tint was too dark.
He had me go back to his car where he explained to me that he felt the tint was darker than permitted and that I should have it changed. I pointed out that I had owned the car for nearly 4 years at that point, having passed numerous law enforcement officers but that he alone was the first to pull me over for it.
He just kind of grinned and nodded his head. "Well, I'm not citing you for it, nor am I issuing you a warning ticket. I just think you should consider having it changed and by the way - nice car."
Bingo! He just wanted a look at the Buick up close.
I got out of his car in amazement but then realized that people who like nice cars also work in law enforcement.
I've not been stopped since for the 'tint' either. But like before, I've had a lot of drivers, including cops, wave as I passed them by.

Sounds like it, but why go through the entire hastle of trying to trump up some crap, researching the law and wasting his time? Seems alot of time and misunderstanding could have been avoided by some simple HONESTY. Strange concept these days I know....

On the subject of profiling: I wish I had a buck for each time one of my my protectors (read that "police officers") did a u-turn after passing me going the other way (my darned Vert almost always seems to be going a bit over the speed limit), follows me a while then approaches only to see my grey beard (read that: "grey beard") and peels off to look for easier pickin's. I suspect he (or she) is looking for someone who, given a bit of time, will do something really stupid.
