Hey guys. Let me start out by saying I never listen to music. You may think I am crazy, and most likely I am () but whenever i have my radio on I am listening to talk radio. Doesn't put my shaker to the best use now does it?

So, I was wondering if you guys could suggest to me some music to play in my stang. When I listen to music (very rare) I like alternative rock. Not the I want to kill myself I am so depressed stuff, but just alternative rock.

Well, I hope this thread works a little bit.

not alternative - but would sound good in the Shaker -

NO PARTICULAR PLACE TO GO
(Chuck Berry)
CHUCK BERRY (CHESS 1898, 1964)

Riding along in my automobile
My baby beside me at the wheel
I stole a kiss at the turn of a mile
My curiosity runnin' wild
Crusin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go

Riding along in my automobile
I was anxious to tell her the way I feel
So I told her softly and sincere
And she leaned and whispered in my ear
Cuddlin' more and drivin' slow
With no particular place to go

No particular place to go
So we parked way out on the Kokomo
The night was young and the moon was gold
So we both decided to take a stroll
Can you image the way I felt
I couldn't unfasten her safety belt

Ridin' along in my calaboose
Still trying to get her belt a-loose
All the way home I held a grudge
For the safety belt that wouldn't budge
Crusin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go

Get some new stuff like Simple Plan, Yellowcard, Good Charlotte, Sum 41, Hoobastank, Maroon 5. I think you would be most impressed with Yellowcard or Maroon 5. Yellowcards sound is like no other with a violin soloist in every tune, but still rocks out. And Maroon 5, I can listen to their entire CD over and over again. Great CD!

I've got your back on the talk radio... Rush, O'riely, Boortz, Tammy Bruce, Tony Snow, Glenn Beck, oh... and Al Franken (joke). But I also listen to ALL types of music. This is alternative, but not much rock, but try 'Jamiroquai.' The CD is 'Traveling Without Moving,' great driving CD that will sound GREAT with the Shakers. Especially track 10! You might not like it the first time you hear it, but afte the second time you listen to the CD it won't leave your 6 disc changer for months. Here's a link where you can preview a few tracks.

Let me know what you think.

Darn, I just went back and listened to that link I gave you. It cut off the beginning of track 10 - It's the sounds of a guy starting his car and ripping through the gears full throttle... oh well, buy it.

Flaming Lips "Telepatic Surgery", Game Theory "Lolita Nation", My Dad Is Dead "Everybody Wants the Honey but not the Sting", and Urge Overkill "The Supersonic Storybook" are all excellent "Alternative Rock" albums that sound really kick-a** on a Mach or Shaker Audio system.

How about "Kicking Harold"? The song "Gasoline" is especially good. Some of you might know it as the theme for "Overhaulin'" on TLC.

Well he asked for alternative rock and alternative rock is a relatively new genre, so groups like Zeppelin, Clapton, CCR, Doors...these are all great Classic Rock bands, I was recommending music of today's age, alternative rock. I also realize that age has a lot to do with the selection of music and differing tastes of the users on this forum, so before you critize the likes and dislikes of mere recommendations, try not to date yourself with your own negative input...
