PC Gaming nerd thread!
I understand someone hacked SimCity and was able to play it offline, something EA said wasn't possible. A video was posted to youtube as proof.
And you thought people hated EA before...

I believe it's DRM-protected online, but I'd bet my Shelby it's so they can get more money out of the people that buy the game.
I mentioned before that I don't play games much anymore, but even if I did I'd never touch anything sold by EA. They have turned gaming into farming people for their money and they don't care if anyone knows about it anymore.

EA is at the top for money-grabbing gaming companies. Followed very closely by Capcom
It's not a hack, the game just doesn't really need online to function, I think it can go 20-30 mins without being online before it kicks you.

I'm pretty sure roller coaster tycoon was on the PS2 but I am not 100% sure on that.
I'm a railroad buff and enjoyed the railroad tycoon series back in the day. However, the game I miss the most, without question, was Jane's Longbow and Longbow II. I think those games are 20 years old by now, but I've never played a more involving or enjoyable game.
EDIT: re: SimCity, here is an article (though a different one) detailing what I was talking about--and the anger being directed toward EA (and rightfully so).

21.18 Mb/s is your normal DL speed? **** that's fast. My cable provider has a 10 Mb/s, a 15 Mb/s, (the one I use) and a 30 Mb/s. With 100 Gig, 150 Gig, and 200 Gig data limits respectively. Upload speed is pretty similar to mine, though. Not that it's that big a deal, I never got buffering on Netflix even when I was getting 1.5 Mb/s on DSL.

course you've never played them, console and all....
and I don't know, I was never a huge fan of the tycoon games.
