GTX FTW.... Even my GTX 580 is more then enough for all games I've put it against.

 

Looking instead of running the 550ti in sli. Just buying the 580. Maybe sli that later on.

Wasn't gonna say anything...... honestly i'd go for a 670 man, looks like about the same price and they OC to be better than a stock 680. Sli is just problems waiting to happen.

It's very hit and miss from game to game and setup to setup, from ingame graphical issues to the second card not even being utilized and normally with any new game it'll be 2-3 weeks before sli drivers are released.

 

I wonder what gaming method doesn't have these types of problems?

I've always liked Nvidia cards and I haven't been a fan of Asus since I had a mobo crap out comparatively fast.


My brother is a fan of Radeon cards though and it always seemed like he had driver problems. Although that's anecdotal but enough for me to stick with my Nvidia stuff.

This computer is my first intel based unit, prior to this one I've always used AMD processors.

Consoles are cool but I like building a computer every few years, kinda like wrenching on a car. You can get in a mess around and tinker with it, with a console the most I've ever seen are case mods and maybe some sort of cooling mod but that's about it, most everything else is integrated.

Agree, unfortunately I haven't upgraded my PC in a long time, It just runs so good and never fails at anything I threw at it. Kinda wish something would go so I have a reason to upgrade.

I can vouch for driver erroes. My 6870 started crashing when catalyst auto updated... I had to go back and install an old version of catalyst to fix it.

And on the xbox mods... I added a 1 tbyte hard drive. But thats about all the hardware you can add.

Lol.. Ive been rinning ixtreme for 2 years... I dont have the 1tb drive on it anymore cause your right. Its not needed. If you keep ixtreme update you wont get caught.

 

I had a moded Xbox for a couple years, besides playing a game two weeks before It comes out there's no way they could tell. It eventually pooped out on me, loved those free games though. Again, all of this done in Mexico.

I used it for me and my brother.. I saw no reason to buy two copies for us to play the game without splitscreen.
