PC Gaming nerd thread!
You're in the ALPHA? How is it so far?
I've been considering joining the ALPHA, but I'm a little hesitant to pay money to be a play tester. I'm used to receiving money for that job. Did play testing for HALO 2 and a couple of Gearbox games.

and from what im reading its cheaper to buy in alpha. then when the game is complete they will raise the price
I can run it high/very high 70-80 fps, Max EVERYTHING puts me around 30-40, I have a i7 920 @ 4.0, don't think it's a CPU bottleneck. The card runs at 100%. Might just need a driver update.
Definitely not the CPU. You're probably comparable to my i5 @ 4.5GHZ.
What resolution? AA? AF?
I'm running in 1920X1200 with 8X AF and no AA. I find that with AA turned on there is a stutter. It's not slow frame rates, but it does have a frame rate stutter about every 5-10 seconds, regardless of what is going on. Turned it off and no stutter. Besides, I really don't even notice the AA in such a fast action game at 1920X1200 resolution.
I haven't bothered to benchmark mine in the game, but just going from my trained eyes I would say that I drop down into the 30s with everything on Max Detail settings except for the AA. I don't think I've run into a situation where it dropped below the 30s yet.

Far cry 3 is also a rather demanding game regarding graphics. It runs slowly on just about any system with FXAA at 4 or higher with the options maxed, or so I've read. Want to see if I could get crysis 3 to run at 60 with max settings on my system but its not worth the $ just to see if it will. I don't play very much anymore (not a lot of time) and I wouldn't use it enough to justify the expense.
Built a new rig about two or three months ago.
Gigabyte G2 Assassin rev2 mobo with core 7 processor, 16 gigs of DDR3 ram, two nividia 680 GTX graphic cards and right now two 1 terabyte WD Velocirator HDs in combination with a 27" monitor.
Yeah pretty good rig, I can run every game so far on max graphic settings with a minimum of 60 FPS (Skyrim, Crysis3, Secret World, and so on)
Still got some upgrades to do like porting my OS to an SSD and maybe going to a set of 690 graphic cards when the price comes down.
Would have gone with an SSD or SSDs and 690 graphic cards but I had a budget set and was willing to take the hit in performance since my old rig wasn't even half as good as this one.
