Officer was a douchenozzle.. you should have seen him. Flipped the sirens and the way he drifted that Tahoe. Someone had been watching to many episodes of cops... he thought he was gonna get a high speed chase out of me...

Once upon a time in the grocery getter with the missus, I feared I was going to fall asleep at the wheel. It was 2AM and no one was out so I'd put a little pepper into it (not too much) and concentrated on the task at hand and the road ahead - so much that I drove through two interstates about ten miles until I saw the flashing lights off the trees as I took our exit! This guy wants to know why I didn't stop, so I told him I was tired and concentrating on the road ahead, insurance, registration...
Here's the kicker: He asks us if we vote - we both say yes and he sends us on our way w/ no citation. Consequently, it *was* an election year for sheriff. Must have been a tight race that year...

I got pulled over going 80 in a 70. He thought I was street racing and drunk. Took breathalyzer was clean. Plus it was 4 hours past curfu. He had 2 other cops back him up thinking I was going to run. He said it was $280 for speeding and $210 for curffu and let me choose which I wanted. Then he let me off with nothing.

Oh man, forgot all about this one.
Opening night for Natural Born Killers and I had only had my LX 5.0 for a little while, we all met at my apartment at the time, loaded up and took off the see the show.
I lived right off of J Clyde Morris boulevard in those days and the east bound on ramp to 64 East was just down the street.
Anyways the light turned green, I whizzed around the on-ramp and hit the highway in-between a substantial break in highway traffic and squeezed the throttle till I hit around 130 mph. Let off, slowed down to 70 or so and hit the east bound off ramp to Hampton Roads Center Parkway and proceeded to aggressively round the off ramp when I looked up and saw a pairt of very bright high-beams in my rearview mirror.
I thought to myself; "this cant be good"
Turned out it was a state police officer, so I pulled over (naturally) and he did the usual , asked for my info and then proceeded to tell me that he popped me with the radar when he was somewhere on J Clyde. He said I was doing 86 or so before he lost sight of me.
I dont know how fast that trooper had to go to catch me but for 4 miles I did not see any flashing lights or or brights in my rear view mirror.
I'm pretty sure he didn't catch me doing over 120 mph (although I'm pretty sure he was doing that at least )
He checked my info, handed it back and told me (remeber this is the early ninties kids when 225 HP was considered pretty **** good); "Thats a powerful car, be careful with it" and on he went, and on we went

My cars are generally only driven for enjoyment on nice days. One night when I had my '97 Cobra vert, I decided to take it to meet up with some buddies. I made a left turn from a red light onto the highway and proceeded to hit it. I don't get to drive them that much so I was having some fun. There is a open cutout where they sometimes sit on the right side not more than about an 8th of a mile from where I started. Well, another probably 2 miles down the road I got this guy on my butt with his lights. I'm like whoops...I guess he saw that. So we pull over he asks me for my docs which I give him. He says "Where did you start out??" I told him. He says "You got that car going 85 in that short a distance!??" I said "uhh...well yes, I guess I did". He smiled, looked at the car again, shook his head and said "Don't let me see you do that again, now get out of here". I drove off.

So close, I've run right on the cusp of 160. I can tell you though that in an 09 GT500 you'll almost hit 160 in 4th right around 6000 rpm (provied you dont have the speed limiter on). I saw the shift light and reflexively hit 6th (I almost never use fifth in my car) and that killed my acceleration, had I hit 5th it would have still climbed a little more.
Its to bad Ford only gave the 07-09 GT500s a 160mph speedo, as I understand it, bone stock with no speed limiter they will go 180+
