Draws way too much attention when you have 10 cars behind you that are close enough to draft. I thought it was hilarious watching all of them scatter in my rear view window though as the trooper turned around.

I didn't get a ticket, but I got pulled over for inappropriate use of the horn. There was a driver in front of me who was too timid to turn right on red, even though it was legal there. I honked my horn at her and there was a motorcycle cop right behind me. The light turned green and she went around the corner and so did I and he pulled me over. I told him I had no idea there was such an infraction. He explained to me that she was not obligated to turn right on red even though it was legal for her to do so. Dumb!!! This was not in a Mustang. I don't have mine yet and hope to never get pulled over in it.

Not a Mustang story and not mine - but ...
Mid-70's and my brother and his buddy were on I-75 heading North into GA from North Fla and decided to find top speed. This was a '72 Duster with the 340, but it was a long way from stock with custom cam, gears and a 6-pack, etc. He said they had buried the speedo at 160 when an oncoming GA trooper whipped around and lit 'em up.
He swears this is true but I am not so certain the details are as reported: He says he lifted and just coasted for a mile or so while the trooper caught up. When the trooper finally swaggered up to the car, he walked around it first then told my bro' to put away his license, he was not writing a ticket! Supposedly, he just wanted to see what the hell car that was that was doing 175 and he was impressed.
To put it in perspective, some of us older guys remember the 70's were a slightly more relaxed time (in some ways) and this is not completely unbelievable. After all, we had Cheech and Chong, Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa on 8-tracks and free love.

It really was pretty funny to watch. lol. I wouldn't have had a pack drawing all that attention though, if people would grow some ***** and drive their own speed instead of trying to drive mine.

Amazed how it picked up that sneaky basterd
