I picked up a couple of playtoys recently - I love having a job.
The first is a Swatch watch I ordered from Chicago. I'd seen it in their North Bridge store last weekend, but waited, figuring I'd order it online. Of course, they didn't have it on there, but the store was able to ship one out to me.
I love watches (this is my sixth one), and have wanted an automatic one for a while - this one's perfect. It's fun to watch the movement do its thing from the front or the back. Here are some pictures:
My other gadget is what I used to take those pictures...a Nikon D50 digital SLR camera. My trusty Canon A60's CMOS started taking noisy low-light pictures, so I needed something new...I figured I'd take the opportunity to upgrade.
It's such an improvement. It acts like a 35mm SLR - there's no lag at startup or when taking pictures. The pictures are great, and it's so easy to change settings without going through 982348 menu choices. I have the 18-55mm lens it came with for now, and I'm going to buy its 55-200mm companion soon. that'll give me a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 24-300.
I also picked up some fun fisheye filters from Adorama. They're not the highest quality (objects in the far reaches of the lens are usually blurry), but they take some fun pictures. Here's the wider of the two filters, on the camera:
Anybody else buying any fun toys?

I'll be buying a SanDisk MP3 player once I find about $90 lying around.
I'm fine with my compy for right now, though. I just made a SysMetrix WinAmp controller that is 89x19, since I have no space left on my desktop. :P Fits perfectly under my Buddy List, so I can chat with you guys and control meh Pink Floyd and Queen easily!

Brian- My dad would LOVE that watch! He loves watching it work also!
Let's see, right now in the living room I am in, we have 14 clocks. One of them is an oldy from a boat (it has the most annoying knocking of the chime), and one from 1750
