Im in the market for a new Real Time Strategy game (PC based). I love Starcraft (Broodwar), but I want something new. I've looked at the LOTR: Battle for middle earth and it looks cool, but whats some of the other new stuff out?

Black and White 2 is already out. I hear its great.
Age of Empire 3 is out. Its supposed to be good.
Earth 2160 is out. There's a demo if you wanna "test" it. Check 3DGamers.com.
Battle for Middle Earth I hear is fun, though multiplayer is supposedly slow (long time for either side to win).
Act of War is good. There's a multiplayer demo out for that. You can skirmish vs CPU so you don't have to play humans to test it. My main gripe on that game is no mouse-scroll.

I'm personally addicted to Command & Conquer:Generals (out for 2+ years now). I mainly still play its expansion, Zero Hour. You can pick up both on the bargain bins now.

I'm waiting for spring 2006, Star Wars:Empire at War looks real promising.

That's an FPS, not RTS.

I haven't played a RTS in sometime, though I used to love Starcraft and WarCraft. I'd be willing to pick one up that others have to play against someone I know (why I finally gave up on them, no one wanted to play anymore!)

And Battefield is fun, but I really like SW: BattleFront. Both are more Third Person Shooters, with goals. Battefront especially is a lot of fun online.

gt5000, thanks for the enthusiasm, but i was specifically asking about RTS games. I used to play nothing but FPS, but here lately, i'm wanting a change.

J, I play Starcraft almost every day in the afternoons at work. A couple here play and we usually have a match up. I could play sometimes from home over the net as well. I am on dialup at the house though so it sorta stinks. I think we are about to look into satellite.

theres an ooooolllllder one that some star wars fans might appreciate
star wars force cocmmander was great, but i have a feeling most modern RTS's will put it to shame lol

Just be warned, Satellite sucks for online games. Friend has it, because he lives in the sticks. He's looking into the new Verizon Broadband wireless technology instead.

Regular downloads with the Satt he said are fine, but the latency is what kills it. Regular surfing would be fine, tho.

The only reason we desperately need on all the time broadband is for my mother who works from home and has large database downloads about 4 times a week, and then my work from home (and TMS). Gaming will be a side option and not a huge priority. Bellsouth tech that was out checking our 3rd phone line stated that they are looking into putting DSL hardware in our area, which I would love since I own a DSL modem i can use, but I am not holding my breathe on them.

Yeah, I have DSL because I hate Comcast. I went with a local provider to get a private IP and NO hassles with servers (for web server and mail server).

Anyway, we're off topic.

Any other RTS's people can recommend for One T?
