I wish I lived 215 miles to the south of me. I would swim in the gulf every day. I can't wait till this summer- I missed my 72 hours in Panama City last summer.

 

Here's an aggravation related to weather. We have a 15 year old yellow Lab, Stormy. When it's cold we put her in the garage with a blanket and heater at night. She no longer has contol of certain functions and I get to wash out the garage floor. I'm really tired of all the poop! Come on Spring! (how long do Labs live,anyway?) JK. I swear the cars are starting to smell like dog. What self respecting Pony smells like a dog? Oh well, you gotta love the old girl. She was one heck of a frisbe dog in her day. Cold and a chance of rain all week-more poop.

 

Sorry to here about Stormy, between Labs and Shepards they ROCK save people too ! as for the fllor like inside I'd rather it on a hard easier to clean surface than in the grass ( land Mine ) on in the carpet ! sure its gonna happen and they know it just give her a big hug so at least she'll know that you still care . and put me in place if I'm out !

Weather here still sucks. I have played about 15 hours of the Sims a day because there is nothing else to do- weather too dreary.

 

In Stormy's younger days she would rather die than have an accident. She really has been a good dog,except for the digging. She loved frisbee and swimming. She went boating with us often. She is just so old now. She is covered with tumors that the vet says cannot be removed because of location and risks. She is very thin dispite being well fed-vet says it's age. Guess a bit of poop cleaning won't kill me. Small price to pay for loyalty.

Beautiful day here. Yesterday we picked 113 grapefruit from our tree. That's 534 total this year. We kept a few, gave some to a neighbor, hubby took some to work and 55 went to a local food pantry. 1 or 2 may be hiding, but I think that's all. Both grapefruit and lemon are beginning to flower. April, Spring is almost here! So much work to do getting yard ready. Can't wait!

My stuff is up and coming- and next weekend another MAJOR planting of stuff.

 

Just received a Houston Garden Centers ad in the mail. Full color pics and coupons. Not sure how much longer I can hold out. Mid march is usually safe as far as any late freeze goes. Every bed will need mulch this year,guess I could start on that now. Maybe I'll just skip the yard all together and just find reasons to drive the Stang all day!

 

Nice weather today! Drove 20-25 miles to Brazos Bend State Park (Texas). Counted over 30 alligators, a guy counted 55. One was eating some critter and another bigger one tried to take it away and they fought. It was amazing! Saw a few birds, but gators were the stars of the show. Some were only 10 feet or so away,really close. Most were small, 3-4 feet. Some were 8-10 feet in length. One looked really big. Really was a great day. My Mustang was all alone in a sea of trucks and SUVs in the parking lot.

My blood is trying to acclimate. Its in the 70s today, but I am not quite feeling it yet. Give me a week, and then let me suffer through a quick blackberry winter.

But Bye bye heat bills!

Just think if you were unfortunate enough to live up north? It stays cold there till like July.

Odd Weather it cannot be here now ! I think they like each other ?

 

Turtles are sooooo cute! There were dozens of them at the park today. They were lined up on logs and such, sunning. We had a "box" turtle when the boy was little. It ate turtle food from a spoon. We let it go after a while.

 

I spent a pleasant afternoon putting an azalea bed in- (and another later today) and putting snapdragons and dianthus in flower pots-also got two tree roses to put on either side of my front porch.
I got done around 3, Came in and Brian got home from Florida.

I did a stupid thing- I bought a bottle of Pinot Grigio wine for the occasion.It was good. I drank it all. Then I apparently passed out and puked on my bed around 6 last night, thats why I am wide awake with a stomachache at 2 am. Yuck. Normally I don't drink more than a glass, but we got to playing the guitar game(I put on a song, he plays it for me) and I screwed up. I thought I learned my lesson after the great Midori fest of 2001.
