Noisy neighbor problem

Man,...you're a patient man Gabe.
When I was with my last girlfriend, the people above us had a couple of little kids living there. Actually, they were the grandkids and sometimes the parents lived there, sometimes not. (Let's just say it and get it over with, they were the epitome of white trash.) The banging and jumping on the floors on top of our heads would drive me f'en insane. I find that very, very rude and very inconsiderate, since I wouldn't do that to anyone. I would curse and flip out all the time.

You should get some people, go outside his door and start doin some tribal dance. But make it evil, scare him into keepin his stuff down. Or get some huge guy to "persuade" him to watch his bongo volume

I'm curious to hear an example of the jungle bongo music lol. Is there a condo board or somebody of authority you can complain to besides the maintenance man? I think the 10-10 rule somebody mentioned is more of a general giude, just respect your neighbors all the time.

Somebody told me that any changes I make (like plumbing) I'm responsible for for a year, so I plan on being here till some time in 2014, then sell and run to Florida

If its not illegal, and police cant do anything about it, then you wont win.
If the guy does this every day, then its a hobby of his. that's like someone asking you to drive slow or replace your exhaust to your mustang, because its too loud, you will tell them to buzz off.
Your options are limited, so talk to your lawyer and have a list of rules and regulation for that complex, there might be time/noise level charts etc.

Just sent the cops to talk to the noisy a-hole.

He's a wacko. Just found out that he's actually a drummer, on an african-type music website (I have his profile page saved), so he actually does this profesionally.
I'd think he can afford some freakin sound insulation before somebody goes insane listening to his bongo crap all day

Quiet so far.
Usually I'd be hearing something by now, so we'll see ...
Lol ... I never made a ton of noise and it was always between 10-2, middle of the day, if/when I did make some noise ...
