Hi Dennis!

Just realized the finale is probably the same night I'm going to see Eric Church. May 17.

Everybody has been good so far tonight.

The stuttering thing is incredibly annoying.

I thought Colton and Elise were the best tonight. Didn't know either of the songs, but I liked both of their performances.

I've heard both of their songs. Didn't see what was so special about Elise's performance though. It was good, but it wasn't incredibly original or anything. Haley sang the same song last year. I'm still voting for Skylar.

Imagine that.
I did think she did really well tonight, but I have some kind of block about teenage girls singing songs like that. I didn't know the song, but the first line was "I remember the way you made love to me" and it went on from there with even more innuendo and it just threw me off. It just doesn't seem appropriate for a high school girl to be singing a song about a sexual relationship. Call me old fashioned, but I don't even have a daughter and I can't imagine being her dad and hearing her singing that.
Maybe I'm just crazy, but it gave me a bad vibe right from the beginning because of that.

Thought Phillip was great too. I love his interpretation of songs.

See, now I didn't know any of the first round songs, but I know all of these. That's the kind of stuff my parents listened to when I was growing up. Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, etc.
Hollie just didn't have enough soul for Son of a Preacher man, she did alright though.
