I dropped by this afternoon, and LO AND BEHOLD! what does he have in there? a BRAND new 03 mustang(5k miles) someone let "the payments get too high" on. On the good side, its spectacular, IUP, cd changer, leather etc) on the sad side, it has a salvaged title now. All they did was wet the electronics in the motor "get wet" then started it and threw a rod and break the headlight bulb. Zoom!
SOOOOOOOOO pretty. I can play with it when my car goes in for general maintenance next week. Tempting- and super cheap as well.

well i dont know... it is a salvage title which probably means the mileage doesnt have to be verified. Maybe they just put in a new speedo with 0 miles on it and started over.

nah, its got miles on it. It isnt a zero mile, and its my personal mechanic. He doens't do things like that.Trust me, he's too honest. I know because he would rather tell you what you want done is a stupid thing rather than do it and make a quick buck.
Freaking beautiful car though. Would love to have it, minus the blasted salvage title. And the ONLY reason it has one, is because they filled the motor with water and blew a rod to get it totaled by State Farm. I suppose the previous owners got it and couldnt afford it . One teeny scratch- looks like someone took a hammer to the hood right above the drivers side headlight.

ya i understand it has 5k on it. I was just saying they could have put in a new speedo which would reset the odometer unless programmed by the factory otherwise then put some miles on it. (that is how bikes work anyway cars )

but if you trust the guy then all is well.

my dad went and looked at a mercedes once i cant remember the specifics of it but it was advertsied as 25k miles or something... so he goes and looks at it, while digging in the glove box finds a receipt for the 75k service or something like that... so it happens.

the slithery snake salesman who was having the engine cleaned and repaired may well have messed with the odometer.....
Upon reflection, beautyyyful though she may be, she aint for me. I don't want to be "found on road dead" if you know what I mean
I have time on my side......I can wait 9 more months for my spectacular lime 05, this will not kill me.
