The other day I got a Slingmedia Slingbox from CompUSA and it works great! It allows me to watch my cable TV anywhere on my laptop.

I hooked the Slingbox to the Digital Cable box with an s-video cable. Then hooked it to the wireless router with a cat-5. Then an IR cable wraps around the cable box and interacts with the remote. Then I loaded the software on the laptop and configured everything and I am free to watch anywhere.

This is the wildest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to load the software at work. When I click on the icon there, it finds my network at home and I can remotely control my cable box from there.

That's awesome. How's the picture? Are there any delays?

At home, running off of the local router, the picture is real clear with about a 5 second delay. Very handy when there is a race on and I want to be in the garage. I tried it at my brothers house and the picture is a little choppy with about a 30 second delay. The cool thing about this company is that whenever they have an upgrade, they do it all with software. All I have to do is download it.
