I can't believe this is where my tax dollars are going

Pie
I had a friend who used to live in Houston and he would swear by the House of Pies. He always wanted to take me there after a night of drinking and shenanigans, I think there was one on Westheimer near where we were, but I never had the stomach for pie at 2:00 am after too many beers.

I was planing to take Fusion to body shop today to get an estimate, but they were closed so I hate to wait until Monday.
We spoke with insurance agent last night and this morning and we're still unsure if we're gonna go with insurance. If damage on the car is less than $500 (which probably is) then we won't go.

I did the same once & I have a program for thier GPS trackers here and was told nobody available, so I pulled it up & they that were on duty were at a coffee shop having a meeting. & that was 5 mins away from the incident. Not all cases but some they really need to be reemed out real good !

Just a quick word on the priority of calls that Houtex mentioned. Here at my dept we have priority 1 thru 4. Most hit and run calls are a 3 unless there are injuries or blocking the street which will make it a 2. Either way, if a higher priority call comes in then it (hit & run) gets pushed back. This could explain why your Mom was told Officers are on the way and then did not show up. Our dept has a policy to call back and tell you if this happens. Don't know about up there since every dept has different policies. I hope this helps you understand some of the things that go on behind the scenes.

That sound about right, Jimmy.
Ed, the "on duty" part of your GPS program sounds quite neat. I can haz copy?
Cops have lunch breaks too, fyi. Not saying they couldn't be pulled, but not for anything less than a 2, I imagine.

Just like a doctors office or an Emerg room, I have a lot of repect but when it becomes miss guided and fatal WRONG use with tazers etc that saddens a lot of people and for me takes away what faith I have left for a corrupt or miss guided system.

If there is so much as one call holding (no matter what priority) you are not going on a lunch break. I've left nearly full plates of food, paid for food only to have to leave before I got it or my money back and went many shifts without a lunch break at all. Did it again just this last New Years Eve on a 10 hour shift.
