Ah yes but adoptive by conventional means or did he know of her powers before hand and took her in making up the adoption story so she and possibly his wife (if she doesnt know of her powers) wouldnt find out. I think he works for an organization (possibly government) that knows about these people.
"OMG I didnt watch the recap marathon but just found the preview that they showed at the end of it for upcoming episodes, dont watch if you dont want any spoilers there are a few.....

ok so what if what Hiro said to Peter wasnt to mean if they save the cheerleader then they save the world?
He says "Save the cheerleader Save the world"
this could very well mean that he is telling Peter of two seperate things they have to do.
1.Save the cheerleader
and
2.Save the world.
not that one has anything to do with the other
??????

Below each topic highlight to see the spoiler:
Micah:
In the latest TVGuide (Oct 23rd issue), Micah is confirmed as having powers however the specifics remain unknown.
Sylar:
Sylar is not Peter. According to IMDB Sylar is played by Sean Bean. Here is a pic of Syalr when we see him on the show in a shadow, its been lightened. Its not really clear, but it gives you an idea of what his character looks like. It appears he has a beard. But I cant see anything else special. Mind you though, the right side of his face is still pretty much in shadow.

This is a real big spoiler! First Mohinder's father's neighbor is working with Claire's dad....OMFG!!! Did she perhaps have something to do with his fathers death???? Second, I was right, Niki is the one who did all the killing and DL took the fall for it!

well if you look at the pic I provided it doesnt look anything like him, but IMDB has him listed as having played him as well as being in this upcoming episode and then he disappears again for a while before we see Sylar again, I guess we can still just wait and see. It would be a lot of work for the creators to go and mess with so many different media sources, but would also be pretty cool...lol
Just The Facts:
I figured it be helpful to have a breakdown of what we know to be true in the show, so as to help us keep straight what is fact and what is theory, also for those that dont watch help them to understand what the show is about and catch up and understand this discussion. His artwork:
Made for the show by comic book artist Tim Sale, Isaac's paintings are shown to be accurate predictions of future events. They are, in order of appearance:
Genesis-
- The depiction of a full solar eclipsewhich happens later in the first episode. Simone stops Issac from destroying this painting.
- A hand holding a transparent container (possibly a glass) with a bubbling liquid inside. Isaac destroys this painting.
- An unfinished painting of a girl appearing to be in a yellow jacket.
- The depiction of a burning bus which is confirmed to be a suicide bombing in Israel.
- The depiction of a fiery train wreck. Claire saves a man from this incident and the story is seen by Isaac on the news.
- A portrait of a man jumping off a building and seemingly flying. This is the painting that encourages Peter to do the same thing.
- A large explosion and the resulting mushroom cloud in Midtown Manhattan. This painting is shown as being done on the concrete floor of Isaac's apartment.
- In the 2nd episode, it is shown that the explosion depicted is to happen at 11:52 AM on November 8 in the story's original timeline.
- In Hiro's "five weeks into the future time frame" Hiro discovers the comic book 9th Wonders, which details the events of him and various other Heroes characters. The book is revealed to be authored and illustrated by Issac.
- In Hiro's "five weeks into the future time frame", there are a great many paintings of a symbol resembling an RNA helix. This symbol appears in many places throughout the series.
- A picture of a girl walking away from a boy in a school hall. A previous scene indicates these are Claire and her classmate Zach, respectively.
- A couple kissing under a red umbrella. A previous scene implies that that the couple is Peter and Simone.
- Himself in his art studio after waking up from a precognitive trance.
- Claire on a set of bleachers as a shadowed figure approaches her.
- Hiro and his friend Ando in a casino.
- Hiro and Ando standing before a dank cityscape, under a banner with part of the word 'Homecoming'.
- A shadowy figure standing over the prostrate figure of Claire, whose head has been severed.
- Peter standing before a dank cityscape.

Appearing frequently throughout the series is a symbol which strongly resembles an DNA or RNA molecule. Said appearances include:
- In the swimming pool at a double homicide crime scene in which Matt was involved.
- As a recurring shape shown scrolling across a laptop screen in a genetic profiling program created by Chandra Suresh.
- On a drawing done by Peter.
- Frequently painted by Isaac.
- On a post-it note on the map in Mohinder's apartment.
- Written on a geometry textbook owned by Claire.
- Written on pictures in Sylar's apartment.
- As a tattoo on the shoulder of Niki's alternate personality.
- Engraved on the hilt of Future Hiro's katana.
- Printed on the front of Chandra's book, Activating Evolution.
- Printed on the upper left corner of the 14th issue of 9th Wonders comic book, written by Isaac (The 13th issue that Micah was reading did not have the symbol).

Just found this over at IGN:
They compare the Heroes to Comic Characters
October 27, 2006 - Here at IGN TV we're big television fans -- and we also happen to be comic book geeks. We've really been getting into Heroes lately, and as we can't help but notice some pretty big similarities between some of our favorite comic book characters and those of the stars of Heroes.
We thought we'd take a look at the seven main super-powered Heroes we've met on the series so far, comparing what we know about their powers so far to characters from comics. We didn't include everyone, such as Niki's husband, or the creepy mind-wiping friend of Claire's dad, since we haven't learned a whole lot about them yet (we don't even have a name for the mind-wiping guy). We may do a new edition of this feature as the season progresses and we find out more about the other super-powered characters.
Until then, here's a look at the main Heroes characters and their comic book counterparts!

Matt Parkman
Similar To: Professor Charles Xavier

Matt Parkman

Charles Xavier
We see police officer Matt Parkman as a young Charles Xavier. Before Professor Xavier founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters he was just a young mutant who didn't have full control of his powers, like Matt right now. Just as Xavier grew to become an extremely powerful telepath, capable of sending telepathic messages, altering memories and controlling the actions and thoughts of others, we expect to see Matt become more in control of his ability, expanding what he's able to do beyond mere mind-reading.
Claire Bennet
Similar To: Wolverine

Claire Bennet

Wolverine
High school cheerleader Claire is often called "indestructible," but in the comic book world her power is considered a superhuman regenerative healing factor. There are loads of comic characters that are able to heal super-fast, but the character that seems to have nearly as fast a regeneration process as Claire is X-Men fan favorite, Wolverine. While she doesn't have an adamantium-laced skeleton & claws or (as far as we can tell) superhuman strength, Claire takes a beating and keeps on going, just like the nearly unstoppable Wolverine.
Niki Sanders
Similar To: The Hulk

Niki Sanders

The Hulk
Niki's powers are still a bit unclear. Originally, we saw that her image in the mirror seemed to have a life of its own, but recent events have showed that Niki herself can turn violent and vicious, as when she fought off a would be assailant and threatened to pierce his skull, (with the heel of her shoe no less). That being the case, we agree with Heroes creator Tim Kring's assessment, as noted in a recent chat IGN participated in, that Niki certainly does have basic connections to none other then the Incredible Hulk. While clearly not a direct correlation (the lovely Ali Larter hasn't turned green as yet), Niki, like Bruce Banner, finds herself transforming into a dark, primal version of herself, inclined to lash out, whether it be with violence or with an ill-advised sexual liaison. And like Banner, when Niki's true persona returns, she has no memory of what her other self did in the meantime. Does Niki also gain additional physical strength when her personality changes? It remains to be seen, though the previews for the sixth episode of Heroes seem to hint that the answer may be yes.

Isaac Mendez
Similar To: Destiny

Isaac Mendez

Destiny
Isaac Mendez is a struggling artist who lives in New York City. Gifted with the power to predict the future, Isaac will undoubtedly be one of the largest factors in stopping the blast that will destroy the City. His ability is odd however, in that he can only predict the future when he is high while using heroin. When drugged up Isaac can paint the future, allowing others to see things to come. This ability is reminiscent of the blind mutant precog named Destiny from the X-Men comic books. Destiny was a villain to the X-Men who would write her visions in a diary allowing others to see the future of mankind. The similarities between Isaac and Destiny are many: the ability to tell the future, the way they dictate the future (diary vs. art work), and the fact that they are blind (Isaac becomes blind when he tells the future)… plus, they both like women.
Hiro Nakamura
Similar To: Nightcrawler, Sway, Chronos

Hiro Nakamura

Nightcrawler
It's hard to find a good example of a comic book character with the exact same abilities as Hiro: teleportation, time stopping and time traveling. Two X-Men members, Nightcrawler and Sway, have a couple of those abilities. Hiro possesses Nightcrawler's ability to teleport, and Sway's ability to manipulate time, slowing down and stopping time in the immediate vicinity.

Sway

Chronos
For the time travel abilities we need to head over to the DC Universe, where the villain Chronos (a.k.a. David Clinton) received the ability to time travel from the demon Neron (which he later learned had the side effect of accelerating his aging every time he time traveled).
Peter Petrelli
Similar To: Rogue

Peter Petrelli

Rogue
Peter is a superhero whose power is to temporarily borrow the abilities of other heroes. Sound familiar? Peter definitely strikes us as having similar abilities to X-Men team member Rogue. In a way, Peter has the version of Rogue's abilities the Southern-accented mutant (played by Anna Paquin in the X-Men films) wishes she had. Unlike Rogue, Peter doesn't have to touch another person to get their power, only to be near them. In addition, so far, those whose powers he takes haven't been at all adversely affected, like they are when Rogue comes into contact with them. Even more impressive, Peter seems to possibly be able to use an even better version of someone's powers then they themselves possess - Witness how, unlike Isaac, he didn't have to be under the influence of any drugs in order to use Isaac's ability to paint the future. Peter is basically Rogue 2.0; upgraded and improved, though probably not as attractive in skintight black leather.
Nathan Petrelli
Similar To: Superman

Nathan Petrelli

Superman
Nathan Petrelli is a politician in New York City, who is currently running for U.S. Congress (and wins according to the newspaper from the future in "Don't Look Back"). In the pilot episode we find out that Nathan commands the ability to fly when he helped save his brother Peter from falling off a building. Even though he should be happy with his newfound power, Nathan seems more annoyed with it as his political aspirations come before everything else in his life. If we were to compare his ability with a superhero's, we would compare him closest to Superman. Even though Nathan isn't invincible like Clark Kent, he does have the ability to fly without wings, at a speed that can break the sound barrier (as shown in the episode "Hiro's").

Well, since youare comparing...apparently the new hero is like 'Damage'.
From here...http://www.comicbookresources.com/ne...em.cgi?id=8694
Okay. Funny story. We're sitting in the writers room and talking about a new character that will show up and we're pitching variations on the scene and Loeb's just staring at us, with this ironic look in his eyes - and after we finish pitching Loeb chimes in, "We're talking about Damage here." Now, most of the people in the room had no idea what he was talking about! But, a few of us knew that he was discussing the DC character, Damage. That phrase, "We're talking about Damage here" has now been a catch phrase for the room.
