Happy 50th Moon Landing Day

This has to be one of the greatest accomplishments for man and to think it happened 50 years ago

My favorite part of this was Buzz giving Trump an earful about how this happened 50 years ago and not much advancement has taken place since.

I read somewhere the computing power to send man to the moon was equal to something like a 386 MHz computer...what we used like 30 years ago LOL

It was all fake, ya know. Filmed at Area 51.

Seriously, those three were true Heroes. If the Lunar Module engine hadn't started, Armstrong and Aldrin would have been stranded on the Lunar surface. They all took a huge risk.

I love stuff about the space race with the Soviets. I was 4 when we landed on the moon. I remember my parents getting me to watch it. My lunch box in 1st grade was an Apollo 11 lunch box. I downloaded and watched the movie, Apollo 11 yesterday. I had gone to see in in the spring. We should have never stopped building Apollo. The ISS could have been hauled up in just s few flights, instead of dozens aboard the shuttle.

I was 10 at the time. Remember being glued to the TV watching Walter Cronkite. Remember a lot of the clips that have been shown now. Exciting and scary time. Thinking back on the tech at the time and what they were able accomplished is mind blowing. This was 1969, remember the IBM basic PC was not out until late 1981, 12 years after. Computer of the time were massive.

They all to huge risks, the are big heroes, everyone of those who took part is a hero! Gives me chills to think about all that could have gone wrong and what they were risking. Lots of unknown in all of these missions.

Hats of to a huge accomplishment. So, what have we done since?

July 20th was my birthday and I was 5 when they landed on the moon. At that age it didn't have any historical significance to me. I just remember wanting to watch cartoons and the moon landing was on every channel, all three of them LOL
