Sorry if this has been posted before...

There is an 05' V-6 listed on ebay, with the "rare power moon roof" option...

Have I been living in a hole? ...I didnt know there was such a thing for the 05.

Anyone have one in a GT?

Just curious...

This is not an option from Ford. There is nothing rare about it.

Looks like a test drive vehicle, look at how many miles it has on it.

It looks a lot like a Webasto Stratos 300 sunroof to me. Definitely aftermarket, but a nice sunroof...

It looks like the asc sunroof we had installed in an 02 coupe. It worked very well but unfortunately screamed ad-on because of the external molding which is fastened to the roof. It didn't blend in like the factory installed ones on the later Probes.

Its interesting in some of my parts catalog illustrations they show the outline of a sunroof in the pictures but no part numbers. It may or may not become available. They also show a front license plate bracket but with a notation not used in production.

I am contemplating the purchase of a gt in the fall or the early new year and a factory installed sunroof would be a great alternative to a convertible . In my price range too.

I read somewhere on here that a factory installed sun/moonroof will not be offered because of the sales it will/would take away form the vert. I will argue with anyone on that point. Total crock of sh...

Not sure how true this is but, I don't see Ford offering it anytime soon because of this logic.

I heard years ago that the Mustang would not be offered with a sunroof anymore because of the slope of the roof.

Sunroofs have been an on and off option on Mustangs (and Cougars) since 1967, they shipped off to ASC even way back then. However they haven't been factory available since the 90s. True, the aftermarket ASC sun/moon roofs have a seal around it that factory roofs don't. But they are flush fitting unlike some of the tacky old pop up sunroofs! They are well made. I've had two installed and they never leaked.

Some people don't like convertibles or just prefer the coupe roofline, but still like an open air experience. How it makes it look "unsporty" is beyond me. It always costs more for the aftermarket version over the factory option. But it costs even more if the dealer installs it.

Well I have seen this place http://www.webastoshowroom.com/ford_..._2005_311L.htm
That has the moonroof similar to that, so I am sure it is just aftermarket, cost about 800 I believe when I called on it.

I totally agree, it is a complete crock of sh... BMW's M3 coupe offers a standard equipment sunroof and they also make an M3 convertible. Myopic troglodyte thinking on Ford's part, I'm afraid.

It is an aftermarket sunroof. Ford does not offer this as an option on the '05 Mustang.
