By mail. The amount you get will probably be based on your earnings for 2007.

They'll mail it to you. Just like they did on the first tax "rebate" when Bush got his tax deal through. Whenever the deal is finalized, checks will be mailed May-June and you'll get them June-July.

And my cash will be a mix of either Savings, saving for vacation or a new PC for daddy.

I would beg to differ regarding the word give - their returning $ we have previously "given" to the govt. Maybe I've been around too long but I think its a little ironic that the intent is to "stimulate" the economy so folks will go out and spend at the same time we keep hearing that too many of us are too deep in depth, not to mention the nation's deficit. Guess I will keep it for the next tax increase which is coming

The smartest thing would be if everyone paid off their debts.

Don't forget to save some of it since most likely we will have to 'claim' it next year and pay taxes on it!

That was not true of the last rebate.
It is a "rebate", not earned income.
They TRY not to double tax money, it looks bad.

You might want to consider buying gold with your rebate.

Is this thread about politics or what you're going to do with the money?

It'll either be going towards mods, or other bills that I can't afford because I bought the mods before the money hits my mailbox.

The rebate is being issued to stimulate the economy. I'll do my part.

They are not printing or increasing the amount of money in circulation, as shown in that pic of the girl burning money. Only the Federal Reserve can do that (not congress and not the Prez.) It is money that you have aready paid into in the form of taxes from years prior. Everyone calm down.

I already spent it...on an HDTV that was 50% off. I love being patriotic. I sure hope it isn't a ruse for more patsies like me to spend money thinking we're getting it and then all of a sudden they decide to yank it. Ha, ha.
