Get Ready For Oil To Hit 100 Bucks A Barrel
Today, as the Israelis intensify bombing in Lebanon, we can only expect further escalation of the war. With more countries drawn into the conflict – Israel has already warned Hezbollah’s backers in Syria and Iran – the likelihood of $100 a barrel looms large.

But seriously, remember when everyone was pi**ed off when it was only OPEC that set the price? It seems to me that things have gotten more out of control since oil has been traded on the futures market!!!

And about the oil...

. Its all privatized now though right? Good job Canada.
Ya, weve got all the oil, but as the #1 supplier to the states were still paying way more than they are for fuel. And Alberta which has most of Canadas oil, i believe still has some of the highest prices in the country, besides the Vancouver and Toronto metro areas. Yeeha.
What really pisses me off is that there has been no real interruption in oil production to spur the recent spikes to record highs. Its just jumping based on speculation of future shortages due to preventable wars that may or may not ever happen.
Alright, im done *****ing.

Last time I checked, the situation in the Middle East could hardly be called anything but bad. Now, trying to "spin" the crisis over there as "good news," THAT sounds like the central and well-worn strategy of the extreme right wing agenda. Three steps forward in the midst of ten steps back does not a positive story make.
And for the record, I don't consider myself either liberal OR conservative - I consider myself a moderate. I can't abide extremists of any kind: "left," right" OR "fundamentalist."

I'm hoping to see some money soon on an investment I made in late 2004. While I feel the price of oil at the pump, I'm looking forward to the larger returns from it as well. Back then. I had made some wild calculations based off $60 a barrel. Now with prices already around $75, it's looking like an even better decision to move my old tech investments to oil.
Though it is a real shame to see the events that are occurring to cause these jumps. I'd be happy with seeing thing settle down, even if it means the price per barrel drops to $30 or so.

Well said BC
I gotta say I've found myself already used to these high prices. I don't like it but I've adjusted. The only time I really feel it is when I get a partial tank..like $5.00 worth and you only get 2 gallon...that hurts.
off topic a smidge but true, there is an old joke that is so true it hurts.
You know when a politician is lying???
His lips are moving.
pretty much sums up my thought on politicians...

I believe it just an excuse as well with all the reserves at hand and Alberta Canada being so abundant why should we pay more ? oh sorry I forgot our gov't like to sell it so we can buy it back for more !

I am familiar with that particular newspaper and my reference to its approach was clear, I could have associated it with the National Enquirer but the NY Times was good enough.
I do not sympathize with any news organization which displays bias for a particular side on a constant basis regardless whether is "Liberal" or "Conservative" and should perhaps try their luck at talk radio. Most likely they would have better success.
BTW, if you ever get serious with me again I will publicly challange you to a duel.
burningman will be the judge.
And burningman: Do you remember the Rosemary sundried tomato ham and melted imported swiss cheese, with sauted onions and spanish sausage on deliciously fresh french bread, specially gourmet cooked by Chef 1 BULLITT?

I thought so!
