Well, I'm not really going blind, but I continue to develop more and more floaters in my eyes.

My opthamologist actually found a tear in my retina in my right eye, so he burned it up w/a laser to hopefully avoid a detached retina.

It's too bad I didn't know about this earlier, as maybe I could have prevented all this crap from filling up my eye. I've had floaters before, but these are extra crummy, as they catch and magnify light. If I'm in a store or something and look at the lights, I can see all these bright spots where my floaters are. I notice it if I move my eyes across something bright as well, even if it's just someone standing in a dark room with sunlight shining on them.

I seem to be getting more floaters in my left eye as well, even though there seems to be nothing wrong with it.

Is it just normal to keep getting more and more of these things? At this rate, in a year or so my vision is going to be pretty crappy. My night vision is already affected because of the aformentioned effect w/bright lights in dark areas.

I figured I'd post this here, maybe someone had a similar experience and can tell me what's up..

Thanks!

Man, thanks for bringing this up.

Dave- Thanks for looking. I've got some spots that I see when I look at blank backgrounds. I don't know if it's normal at this young of age (if 22 is young). They said it is more common for people that are nearsighted, and I am, so I'm feeling better about it.
No flashes though.

Mark- My dad also has glaucoma and is having surgery soon.

20/20 vision is perfect vision (like I had when I was trying to be a pilot, then started working with computers and it all went downhill from there )

A person with 20/15 vision can see objects at 20 feet that a person with 20/20 vision can only see at 15 feet.
From here.

My contacts correct me to 20/15.

I had a friend that was 20/10. He's now flying for the Air Force somewhere...

Well, I found out that this may be related to the dizziness I had a month or so ago... for two months. Isn't the web great, you can search around and diagnose yourself with all sorts of stuff!
