Our prayers are with you

 

Thanks to each of you who replied to Skip's request asking you to pray for us. I have this peace about me and I feel that it is God's way of telling us that I am going to be okay. I have a very strong faith and I know that God will take care of me. I don't care how painful the treatments are, I just want to get better. We have decided after we get results Monday that we will be going to Vanderbilt for a second opinion. After that, we will decide the next step. I know that you are Skip's friends and I probably haven't had the pleasure of meeting most of you but I am truly blessed and overwhelmed to have all your prayers. God bless you all!

Well guys & gals, Deb & I just got home. The news was not good. She has stage 4 cancer in her lungs. The cancer in her esophogus is where it originated. The doctor was so surprised because Deb is a picture of health and he could not believe the report. She's not sick at all, just upset from the report. We are going to get a second opinion from Vanderbilt. She's ready for the fight for her life. The doctor told us the chemo could make the cancer go away but it would probably come back. If that's the case then we'll just have do more chemo. With all your prayers and the prayers from family and church members along with faith in GOD we believe she will beat this. Thank you again to all of you for keeping us in your prayers.

Well guys and gals, Deb and I just got in from our trip to Vanderbilt. They really didn't tell us anything more than what we knew. Made the decission to start with her chemo Fri. in Huntsville. Once again we want to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts.

I've been through difficult times of my own with family, I can't emphasize how much the power of prayer, positive thinking and laughter can help you be stronger. See as many funny movies as you can, stay strong

Thanks guys. Deb had her first round of chemo today. Handled it quite well. No sickness as of yet, but they say it may hit her in a couple of days. They have her wearing a granny pack where she gets chemo 24/7. We go back next week to see how she's doing then go again 2 weeks later where they hook her up again. With all your prayers and thoughts, along our families and friends, we know she's going to beat this.

Sounds to me like when your wife beats this, she deserves a new Mustang...but, hey, that's just my opinion!
