Christian activist group goes after Ford Motor Co

I have to say that if Ford really wanted to generate some good will by donating to a charity or organization of some sort they could have chosen more wisely and less controversially. Children's hospitals, groups that help the homeless, take your pick as there are many great causes that would cause fewer, and likely no, problems with other groups of potential customers.
Ford sells a lot of trucks to a lot of very conservative people in the southern US that things like this could offend. Despite the groups name this is more like donating money to the Democratic or Republican party than Habitat for Humanity as this is really just a legal lobby. Repercussions from those who disagree should have been an obvious issue before a decisions like this was made and frankly I doubt it was. Someone at Ford has said that this would just fly under the radar in these areas which would be a risky guess at best.
If Ford was doing this to make a moral or political stand then so be it and the chips will fall where they may. However, ff this was done as a marketing move, and it almost certainly was, then it wasn't a very wise one and Ford is likely going to lose more than they gain from it.

We should send the AFA to Washington during the Gay and Lesbian rights thing that goes on every year. Maybe they'd learn something.

Perhaps if everyone thought of putting more effort in taking care of their families and leaving everyone else alone we could have a little peace.

Me thinks somebody in the AFA got bumped to 2006 on their Mustang order...
Seriously though...this is just their freedom of expression. You don't have to agree with it (obviously).

that may be a little extreme, they're trying too hard to promote what they beleive is right, they are acting idiotic but their ideals are good. I'm a christian but i dont support the afa. i dont support ford for this, i'd be contributing towards a cancer or aids releif or cure fund.

I think it's good that Ford is getting free advertising from this. I saw the story on my local news. Crazy!
I guess we should have special edition religious trucks for every group out there, that would make it better.......right??

I get the email updates from AFA, some make sense, other are out in right field.
While I agree in principle, I'm not going to boycott Ford over it.....ok, maybe just the Land Rovers or Jags or whatever that I never had an intention of buying anyway.
Frankly, if Ford supported the transexual, one legged, kleptomaniac, handicapped martian society from Pluto I couldn't care less. Now if they price the Shelby above $40K, I'm gonna be ticked.

Doug, Yes you are. Christian is a lot of denominations, Catholics, Baptists, Presbyterians, Amish, Orthodox, Episcopalians, Lutherans are just a few of them. The term 'Christian' is pretty broad.
