I got a Bold 9700 on a great plan right now through work.
I'm elligle for an upgrade in mid-Dec, so I might hop on board depending on how good it is/feels.
The 9700 is scheduled to get BB6, but I have no idea how fast/well it'll run, so we'll see.

People still buy Blackberries? I mean, besides 50+ year old businessmen. I've been reading up on this phone, my father is looking for a replacement for his Curve 8310, and it's just not that impressive. The screen is no bigger than my Palm Pre, though admittedly better res. I just hope the OS isn't as slow, clumsy and outdated as the one on my fathers Curve. If you need one for work, I totally get it, but I just don't see why you'd ever want a Blackberry for personal use.
Sidenote, in RIM's ongoing quest to be the most hilariously out of touch tech company imaginable, they're touting the Torch as the first smartphone with touchscreen capabilities and a keyboard. I'm amazed they can say that with a straight face, considering it's not even the fourth Smartphone to combine those features.

Never even heard of it. I have the Blackberry Tour, and when my contract runs out/my new every 2 comes up, I'll decide what else to get then.
They tried getting me to buy a Droid X at the Verizon store in the mall Friday.

Hope you can jedi mind trick hold it in the air so you don't drop any calls
I'm glad they can FINALLY multitask somewhat.
BB is more for business than bells/whistles, but they are turning it around with 6 (more media toys built in) and the Torch finally gets a real touchscreen compared to the old Storm/Storm2s

Look at engadgets review of the Torch. It doesn't bold (pun) well.
