Bashing Other Sites
It's really up to you if you want to be here or not. We run this site a certain way. There are a lot of sites that aren't run this way if you'd prefer to look around. All we ask is that if you do stick around you stay positive and family friendly.
Thanks.
Thanks.

K...devils advocate here. Is it bashing if it's fact,if we can comment on religion and politics I am pretty sure I can find some "bashing" in there. And if we are commenting on our experiences elsewhere what would we classify that as. And if our comments include an opinion on someone, good or bad where exactly do we classify that. I can understand vulgar language but I see little stars taking care of that. I guess my question here is where is a line drawn. And if people cannot talk about the world and environment we live in what kind of conversation are we having. I read threads on peoples experiences and how their dealer/wife/boss/president are a-holes and they are ruining their car/life/weekend/country. I know the thread and comments you are referring to but I ask you really....where is the line. Is it just other sites we can't talk about. Other people. I don't know where to start or begin. And I don't know anyone who has something nice to say all the time. I hoped that in these grand countries we live in that brave men fought and died to preserve a way of life. I may be mistaken but I thought hitler lost. I really am not trying to be a smart *** here. I am just confused
I'd say use common sense as a general rule. If you know the thread/comments being referred too and you've been a member for 7 months (give or take) I'd say you should have a handle on how the forum is run and the general rules and principles. Plus the fact the one does indeed signup for TMS and as such by doing so (should) understand 'freedom of speech' comes with the general rules of the forum. That shouldn't confuse you . . . .
Everett, frankly I hate politics and religion areas because they always turn negative. People can't seem to stay positive when discussing those topics and they tend to tear each other down. Even though we have that section members are still expected to obey our posting rules.
Politicians are public people though and it's expected that people will debate their policies. Bashing other websites and people who run them because your bitter about whatever happened there doesn't do anything but bring that negativity here. I want o part of it. I also think referring to him as Hitler and saying you survived the Holocaust is really over the line.
We are here to discuss Mustangs. We have an off topic area for members to discuss other topics as long as they stay respectable but when they start bringing the site down and aren't even on topic there's little patience for that.
Hope you can understand where I'm coming from. Not all sites are right for all people. You can take a look at our posting rules and see if this site is right for you. Thanks.

2001 V6 (I want to grow up to be like Everett)
Whenever the "censorship" topic comes up I usually like to chime in as well. I have been a member here now for some years and when I originally joined, I thought this site was a bit annal with the censorship. I have seen some "out of control" postings (i.e. the aftermarket vendor wars) but hats off to the mods and admins for running a truly great mustang site! I would not want the job.

Not replying to you but in general...
The idea of "Censorship", "Freedom of Speech", and "People Died for these Rights" that a few members keep bringing up is a total misunderstanding of who we are. We are a private website with a set of Posting Rules that we ask all members to follow. For a few to accuse anyone who doesn't let them say or do whatever they want of being a **** (which I've seen hinted at several times) is just ridiculous. We aren't the government which is where those rights are protected. If you followed the logic that some people keep trying to push you should be able to walk into any Walmart and post ****, curse out their customers, and verbally attack anyone you like just because you have freedom of speech right? You obviously can't do that and if you did you would be escorted out by security.
There are a lot of websites out there and many of them fit different personality types. If your looking for more of an adult website just look else where... no hard feelings. But to stay here and complain knowing our posting rules is just a waste of everyones time.
