Darn cool story! I knew biologist were trying to make an artificial beak for her, and I think they did an outstanding job!

I have to brag a little here. The beak was made at the dental lab that my hubby works at here in Victoria. I must admit, it was really a cool project for his lab. The employees there are still really proud of their job well done. And so they should be.

So there's two of them. Beauty will get the blingin' titanium beak later on, though.

i thought part of the deal is that this eagle wont be able to head back to the wild because the beak isn't strong enough for it to find food on its own. so they still have ot feed it. either way this is a great story because the bald eagle is one of the most beautiful birds on earth. had a great opportunity to witness one in the wild dive from very high into the water for a fish. one of the most incredible things i have ever seen.

At least one has a chance to return to the wild. Beauty, at least, when they put the titanium beak, that is.
