I got mine yesterday from my wife. She bought the one from Japan. Its really nice, she was a little mad that I wasn't going to transform it. I told her alot of you guys had trouble doing it, so I'm not gonna try to unless I get the cheapo plastic one from Wal-Mart.

Just wondering if your Japan version is made in China? I just hope I didn't get ripped off on ebay.

On my transformer, the hood, roof and back side panels are plastic. The back bumper, and doors are diecast. What about yours?

Thanks,

I just looked at mine, it says made in China. That is one of the few things written in English.

I have the Girmlock diecast metal one (actually 2) but Don't transform it. If you do, really take your time! It's hard but I did mine twice, then just left it as a Robot. Someone at my work, really wanted to see it back into a car so I did it again. But, this time, I got scratches on the roof on rear windows! So, after paying $50 each for 2, now 1 is scratched! The other one is NOT coming out of the box, EVER!

I wish I would have read this forum before I tried to transform mine. I finally got it to a robot but could not get it back to a car. While I was in the midst of transforming it I felt like i was walking deep into the woods without leaving a trail of crumbs to find my way back. Needless to say I then proceeded to cram it back into the shape of a car and then put it back into the box and got my money back. Sad thing is I wanted to then go buy a new one and never transform it. Unfortunately I think I found and ruined the only Grimlock Mustang in the Twin Cities. I can’t find another one anywhere. GRRR … Grimlock mad!!

I have picked up the Grimlock one, but I really can't wait for the Wheeljack version. It really looks great in white and blue.

Note the doors on the robot above. They are supposed to be up like that, above the shoulders. That part of the process gave me fits. Also, I had to pull his head off to get it to clear the hood. No problem, it pops back on. The doors can also come off if you run into problems getting them to rotate properly. My son says he can transform it without instructions. HA! Can't wait to see him try!

Got mine today. Haven't opened the box, and probably won't. The 3 hour getting it back to normal people scared me.

Yeah i finally found one today on a fluke, but i was stoked.

It is a little difficult to transform but it isn't as bad as some people are making it sound. plus it comes with instructions.

And to anyone having trouble transforming your Grimlock, make sure you stay away from modding your car yourself, have a professional do it!

My wife complained enough that I went ahead and transformed mine. It took me an hour. But about 25 minutes to put back.

I think Ford is building me a real one like this. I base that on the amount of time it is taking to build.

I'll be getting the Japanese version, it's a bit more expensive but it's diecast metal.
I got it last time I was in Japan, since my order is for a Satin Silver GT with IAP - albeit a convertible, but hey... it's cool anyway. He lives on my desk at work.
