Just wanted to say, diecastmodel.com has replaced the model! Great service! The doors on my replacement are rock solid!
This should hold me over until May when the real thing arrives

Oh and paint on the model is perfect. Very well done.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi all,
Just received mine # 696 (Legend Lime). The detail is amazing! And the steering wheel actually turns when you move the front wheels!
But I've run into a few issues:
1) The drivers door is very loose and wobbles and does not stay closed like the passenger door.
2) The hood does not stay up on it's own does anyone elses ?
I've sent an email to diecastmuscle.com we'll see what they do for me. Other then the issues above it's a VERY good model, too bad it doesn't have a parchment interior
Thanks
Ben

Hey Ben, great to hear the folks at diecastmuscle.com took care of you. My LL GT model arrived in excellent condition (#421). Still amazed at the attention to detail, right down to the fuzzy carpet and trunk lining!
It's very delicate though. I decided to bring in photos of it to work rather than the model. Bought a cheapo display case for it today at Toys R Us ($6.99). The ones on the diecastmuscle.com site are better and I might trade up some day. They have reflective floors that are angled to show the undercarriage off. It's very interesting that the modelers actually included heat shielding for the exhaust and the two-part driveshaft.
Very cool model indeed!

For those who still haven't ordered one yet, I got mine from speednation.com. Their price isn't as low as diecastmuscle.com, but they offer free shipping, so it probably balances out.
I ordered a Legend Lime model on a Tuesday afternoon and received it (very well packed) on Saturday morning.
Wish I could get a real one that quickly/easily...

The detail looks great. And they do have a 1/64th scale diecast out there. I think it is Hot Wheels. There is also a Spongebob Squarepants version. I am trying to find that for my 3 year old daughter.

Hey Greg, I heard Hotwheels is planning on coming out with both the 2005 coupe and convertible in the latter part of the summer, maybe August. Hopefully it will be sooner, than later. I got this info from a Diecast hobby website, Diecastxchange.com. Its a great site to visit, with alot of friendly collectors. I even saw a picture of the new Hotwheels 1:18 scale 2004 Ford Shelby Cobra Roadster Concept, the car that may or may not get built, as the styling didn't go over too well with some people, and led to the design of the Shelby GR-1. I can say, the model of the Cobra Concept looks fantastic, with the blue racing seats, titanium color with the shelby stripes, and the 10 spoke wheels. Once the Hotwheels Mustang comes out, expect a price no more than $30 . I have the Autoart, and it is one of their best efforts to date on a car. Absolutely flawless .

Wow that is cool!! I freaked out by the carpet in the interior as well as the trunk!
Did you see the buckles on the seat belts! Amazing detail.

Just an update, I've had mine for a while now, but just today discovered something new. The Sun visors flip down. How cool is that!

I've got LL #481. Displayed next to it is Lime Gold '68 Shelby GT 500 KR. The colors look identical but it's amazing how much beefier and aggressive the '05 looks. Also displayed is the '68 " Bullit " fastback and a ' 66 Shelby GT 350 H, black with gold stripes. IMO the '05 looks the best, perhaps because it closely matches the LL GT in my garage.

So far no other colors. The seatbelts are cool, cloth both front and back, with a little black and chrome buckle on each one that slides up and down. Man, the more I play with this, the more I want one.
Why did Ford have to drop the Pony Drive support!?
Better get looking for just the right one, I guess.

Still wanting a Sonic Blue GT Premium.

Mike, I think we are gonna have to just buy one and take it to the paint & body shop for some W/Blue paint.

I went ahead and ordered the Redfire from Speednation.com tonight. Redfire was my first color choice, until I saw the Windveil Blue in person and fell in love with it.
The detail on those diecasts from Auto Art is amazing. I thought it would be a nice keepsake, even in my #2 color choice.
Thanks, Jimmy.
