MT: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread...17&forum_id=100
C&D: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread...65&forum_id=100

Basic rundown:
0-60 3.5
1/4 11.5@ 127.1
Lateral acceleration 1.05 g avg
$65,500 MSRP

However, I do have to laugh at the people wanting to compare it to Ferraris and such. There's more to a Ferarri than its numbers. But that's just me

Didn't find any topics posted about it yet, pardon me if I'm posting old news

I agree...
You'll find guys saying 'oh man this'll kick a Ford GTs hiney'

well yeah, I guess if you're magazine racing.
Then whip out the fact that the Ford GT spanked off a 11.2, and is a purpose built 'supercar'
And the Vette, will always be a Vette.
Other than guys who know what kinda vette it is.....its still a vette to 98% of people
The ford gt just has that ...oomph...

All knocking aside,
That new Z06 IS a beast..
Now can GM build something that more than 4000 people a year will buy? Say.... a ponycar....

That is a beast of a Vette.
I wouldn't compare it to a Supercar either, although it may be as close you can get to the feeling for the price.
They have so much potential with their power plants it's sickening. It's sad they can't give the public a medium weight affordable beast that looks good.

wow, that's pretty fast. but like you've all already said, its still a vette. and add to the fact that i think the new ZO6 looks poopey.... yeah

i'll stick with a 97rwhp II than go with a 11 second beast that looks poopey :P

Saying it looks like a vette is not a BAD thing...
Its just, other than some mods, it still doesn't really differentiate it between a normal run of the mille vette... (ie: looks like a vette with a body kit)

I wouldn't want to run into one on the road...it would just be ... a slaughter.

That is some awesome numbers! and at a heck of an amazing price too!

There's nothing wrong with a sleeper that can take on cars double its price range

The new Z06 looks pretty amazing. Although I am kinda curious...with all this new high-tech super car stuff, is your local Chevy dealer gonna be certified to work on it? Or, better yet, would you want them to?

Not to mention the the GT's tune is about as safe as it could possibly be, with virtually no stress whatsoever. That 50 year old 350 V8 has every single trick in the book, you just cant do anything more to it for a production car. Someone, somewhere, will eventually have the ***** to put a twin turbo on a GT. heck, even the GT500 has the potential to see 1000+ horsepower on stock internals.

sooo, with your reasoning, that's Chevy's Toyota Corrola? It's the best in its class, right?
Gotcha thinking! :P

I don't think I'd say nothing more could be done to its engine, believe me there is always something. And don't think a turbo or supercharger won't find its way to the new powerplant. Then you've got a 427 with great induction and forced induction, i don't think they'll have much trouble reaching 1000 hp either.
