I believe I've already shared my feelings about Shelby elsewhere on this site.

 

mom my has a 2007 GT-H and the stripes look horrible on the trunk, spotting really bad. She fought with shelby for months to get new stripes and finally she got them but now she has to drive the car from LA to vegas for them to install them.

Before she got that car, our family had lots of respect for shelby cuz my dad has a 67 GT500 that hes had since he was 19 and just now finished restoring it. Now we just see the shelby name is a symbol of greediness.

 

What does that have to do with Shelby Autos? Ford warranties the car. All Shelby did was slap some bolt ons on it.

 

my mom went to the ford dealership to get the stripes fixed, they put in a claim with shelby to get new stripes and they denied it, even though the stripes are clearly crap. ford does the leg work to get it fixed but shelby is really responsible for fixing the problems

 

Thats bad Adrian. It seems like Shelby would want a 08 to look good, even just for other people looking at your car who are maybe thinking of buying one.

 

I talked to shelby today on the phone. Ford does the work but they are shelby parts and shelby not ford okies everything. I spoke with 3 different guys and they all had the same song and dance.

They told me rain, hard water or some other elements are the cause of this and its not covers. I ask the guy why they would put stripe on a car that can not be out side. The guy had nothing to say about it. I asked what it would cost to buy the stripe out of pocket... $89 for the front bumper and $300 for the roof stripe plus labor. I told him my local decal shop could beat that price and he said "but ti would not be the same color" my reply "thats good news because its not the same color right now as it stands".


I am feeling some 2011 5.0 fever coming on. I could have the stripes removed from the car and put on the gt500 hood sitting in my living room.

 

Gets the stripes painted on and be done with it.

 

I asked about painting them on and ford said they could not do that due to the fact it would be under warranty repair and they not do non oem work for such a repair.

ford also said I would have to pay for the stripe removal and paint out of pocket

 

I got back from phoenix and picking the shelby up and nothing has been done on it since the dealership is waiting for more parts from shelby. shelby still says they are not sending the parts.

BS and $200.00 in gas to drop and pick the car(s) up.

With the sunny conditions I live in, not to mention the dirt/sand, I am VERY glad I didn't pick up the Shelby GT I was looking at. That, and it had a 15k mark up. I imagine I would of had some very ugly gold stripes at some point down the line.

 

I am thinking of having the stripes on the top of the car removed and my gt500 hood installed. I will leave the stripe on the sides left on.
