Another post got me all sappy and sentimental about my last car. Got her for graduation in 2000, and I sold her last year before I ordered my Mustang. *sigh* Had some of the best moments of my life in that car. There is nothing in that car that is comparable to the new GT I'm getting as far as sheer numbers, and yet I shall miss it. I hope the redfire GT will be as flashy :P Anybody else miss their old cars?

Sorry to repeat myself. I posted this in my intro before seeing this thread.
I bought a salvaged 66 and worked on it on and off for 11 years. What you see in the photos is just one step from completion (taken 1 week before the "event"). Color; Amber Glow; 289 bored out to a 302 with duel quads; "Twice Pipes" (duel with glass packs); 17" American Mags; Hurst racing transmission and 4 speed; Traction bars; Cream colored Pony Interior...... It was real sweet. I had but one more thing to do....tint the windows. I dropped it off and was told to pick it up in about 4 hours. When I returned I was in for a real shock. They'd taken it for a joy ride and TOTALED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beyond any chance of repair.
Need I say what my reaction was? AND...... are you sitting down?....... they still wanted to charge me for the tint job (which was beautiful, by the way.)
Do I miss it? darn right I do.

if some one would have done that to my 66 you would see what would happen on the nightly new
i have my 92 gt keeping it with all the other cars i have.cant wait for the 05
I already missed my Jeep, and it's still in my garage. 99 Jeep Wrangler. 4 cyl, 5 spd, no A/C, bad ride, noisy, horrible accelleration, aweful gas mileage, and the aerodynamics of a tool shed. You'd think I'd hate it, but it's got so much personality that I absolutely love it. I wish it was practical to keep it, but with a company car (05 Camry), and the Stang on the way, it doesn't make sense. I'll probably shed a tear when I leave it at the dealership, hopefully the Mustang will make me forget about it.
I'll be getting rid of my 2004 WRX. Nice car, but I can't say that I will miss it. I just never "clicked" with it.
Now, the ride before the WRX I still miss. Like a few others who have posted, it was a Jeep Wrangler. A 1993 YJ that was very nicely modded for off-roading.
Had to get rid of it when we had our first child. Not a bad trade, actually.

Not getting rid of anything. This will be considered an additional child.
Keeping the 65 of course. (Don't need to explain that.)
Keeping the Bronco because I don't like the full size SUV's now they don't have the heavy frames and so expensive you're afraid to 4-wheel and play in them.
Keeping the neon because I have a son going to be getting his learners permit in 2 years. He'll learn to drive in it.
If he wrecks fine no big loss as long as he doesn't hurt himself. I'll use it on rainy days in the mean time.

Well, I miss my 2000 V6 Mustang and wish I still had it but I dont regret giving it up for 2005 GT. These are just 2 different cars. You can not compare them...inside or out. Especially the engines and power. I sold it to a 17 year old the same day my '05 GT was delivered. I was on the phone with the girl's bank and I get a call from the Ford dealership. It was wild because I was down to having to share my wifes car for us to get to work and at the time I worked 1.5 hours away from where I live. The week before my dealership had said it was going to be atleast another month before my '05 came in. It was meant to be I guess. Her grandparents bought it her B-Day. Must be nice to have grandparents like that.

B)
I had a dilemma! I had a '69 fastback that I had built up and driven daily- you can do that year-round here in Florida. But I recently acquired the shell of a '67 coupe that I'm now rebuilding.
Maintenance was beginning to be a pain with the '69 - I didn't want to have 2 cars that needed work. So I oredered a 2005 GT to be my driver. Once it came in, I put the '69 on eBay - and got my price! It has gone off to a new owner in Texas who will baby it not drive it regularly.
The picture below was taken earlier the day the '69 was put on the car carrier to go to Texas. And it's sale has made a significant dent in my outstanding loan on the '05.
This one turned out to be win-win all the way around.

I miss my old car. I just sold my '02 GT today. But, four months after I ordered it, I still don't have my '05 GT. I guess I shouldn't complain. My dealer was nice enough to give me a (gulp) Focus to drive while I continue to wait. I asked for a bag to put over my head when I drive it, but they wouldn't give me one.
My first car and what I traded in was a 1995 Ford Aspire. It was almost 10 years old and had around 187,000 miles. I couldn't justify spending anymore to keep her in better shape and knew she wouldn't last another long winter. Extremely underpowered and was not much to admire. I've never felt so good to be in my new Stang and have people comment about it and stare as I drive by.
The only possible thing that it had a slight edge was with the Sony CD player which I had removed (worth as much as the whole car). It could play MP3's a lot more reliably than the Shaker 500 is right now.
