What was your previous car?

My old ride was a '67 Mustang coupe with a 289 V8, Holley 4-bbl carb, and tons of other cool stuff. I loved that car! Alas, I had to sell it to get the money together for the '05 GT that SHOULD arrive in a couple of weeks. From what I hear, it will be worth it...

YES! I'll always miss my first '88 LX 5.0 coupe. Bought it right out of high school and then moved 6 hours away. I spent a LOT of time driving home and back in that car. 50K miles in 2 1/2 years? IIRC.
I really miss that low end torque... especially when I drive in my '03. But most of all, I miss how that car "fit me" I'm sure you guys know what I mean. That car was as close to perfect as a car could be... for me.
I'm hoping the '05 will help me get over the '88. The '03 sure didn't.

Funny that Futurestang misses his Cougar. I had an '01 for about 9 months and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Talk about not being able to see out of a car. Wow!
Bought a '03 Mazda 6s after that one and I really liked that car till the clutch started acting up. Had it replaced at 11,000 miles for some of the WORST chattering I've ever experienced in a standard car (I've had about 10 of them). At 16,000 miles the chatter began to come back. Wify said "if you're going to get your 'stang, I want an Audi". She drives her '01 A4 and I have my '05. The 6 was history.
I'm sure in the spring/summer, I'll miss the '97 Cobra convertible, but the '05 is so much nicer in every other way, I'll be able to deal with it.

I've owned too many cars to count, but the ones I still wish I had are:
1968 Mustang Fastback, 390, 4-spd
1971 Plymouth Road Runner, 383, auto (pushed it to 147mph once)
1956 Chevrolet Bel-air 2 dr, 327cid, 4-spd

1974 Challenger, 318 auto (but still a cool car)
1967 LeMans, 327, 4-speed
2001 Cobra, 281, 5-speed
I think I'm gonna need more than a 3 car garage.

I would like to ask for a moment of silence for my old car "Emily."
She was a good car....a black 1994 Kenny Brown Cobra. We lost her in Hurricane Ivan.
As painful as it was it made my decision about whether or not to buy an '05 REALLY easy. I only wish the wait was as easy as that decision.

My previous vehicle which I traded in was a 2002 Ranger Edge, had the 3.0 with a 5-speed stick. It was a fun little truck, especially with a Whipple supercharger and Gibson exhaust on it, but the clutch was a piece of junk. 2 clutch masters and 2 slave cylinders in 3 years did not go over too well with me. Removing the trans each time to fix the slave as well as an oil leak early on was a pain in the neck. I miss the sound the Whipple made, but the clutch problems, don't miss that at all.
Of course I removed the Whipple and sold that seperately, as well as a few other things like aftermarket stereo, etc.

I still have my '01 Mustang that I had before I bought my '05. The only car that I truly miss is my first car that I bought in high school and had through my third year of college. It may have been just a 4cyl. '87 Grand Am, but the memories.......

Well - I Just sold my 95' Wrangler so I could get the wife to buy into the 05' stang. Still have my 2002 Acura RSX-S - Yes, a 4cyl that I will not miss (not that bad of a car though).
The Acura never had a chance though - I owned a 1997 C5 Corvette before it - Can't wait to get back to a V8.
Looks like I will order this weekend !

i will truely miss my 1997 Blazer. I am selling it to my cousin, and he is wanting to "rice" it out...it will pain me to see her after all the junk he is wanting to do to her...the only thing i can be thankful for is that i will have Ruby as my get-a-way car from the rice that will surely be invading my yard, when he visits!

To answer simply: NO.
I must receive the award for greatest auto upgrade (at least from what is posted)
I went from a 1987 Toyota camry 4 cyl FWD to my current GT. Talk about making a few adjustments in driving style... Still have the box on wheels, and if I ever start to take the new stang for granted, a 10 minute spin in the camry will make me fall in love all over again.

Smitty - a miss those old "MUSCLE" cars. All you needed to tune them was a vacuum gauge, a screwdriver, a good dwell meter mixed with a good nose for fuel adjustment and good ear for timing and you were done. Who said progress was good.

i have a beat up 99 chevy malibu and the mustang is going to be MY OWN. im already not missing it. i appreciate it getting me from work to allow me to make money for my stang. but otherwise im saying so long already with no prob....and still waiting for the stang

Don't miss it at all, simply because like a couple of others here, I didn't need to trade in my old car.
Not like there is anything special about a 1994 Dodge Colt, other than the fact that even with 135k on the odo, it still clocks 30 MPG in the CITY. I can get up to 40 MPG on freeways, and since I would have gotten crap for it as a trade in, it's now a work driving car, with the stang as a have fun car.
