This isn't happening anytime soon, unless they re-engineer the Genesis coupe's chassis. Hyundai said their V8
wont fit in the current Genesis coupe at all, which is probably why the Rhys Millen V8 Genesis is mid-engined.
It's funny how the internet peanut gallery all says "Mustangs Suck!" , but then it seems so many automakers are trying to target it and bring out (or have rumors of) competition for the Mustang. Kind of tells you something about the Mustang, doesn't it?

Never underestimate your competition (Sun Tzu).
The Hyundai Tau V8 is already and impressive motor, what with 385 ponies out of 4.6 liters worth of holes. Add another .4 liters, DI plumbing, a crackling 11.5 CR spitting out 429hp (429? Coincidence? I think not...) in the already capable Genesis Coupe chassis, well, they'd have to botch things up pretty badly to make this thing suck.
Of course, if Hyundai sprouts a pair of big ones and does produce this, will that force Nissan and/or Toyota to follow suite? Nissan could just as readily make a 560Z with pretty much parts shelf engineering and some frame/body work up front. Toyota has been dithering for eons about a new Supra, maybe this and a desire to escape the "Beige Brand" epithet would get them off the pot too.

Hyundai Five Oh?
Looks like the Koreans are a bit jealous of all the stang attention, they are putting out a 5.0L V8 to replace their 4.6L V8 and it makes 429hp. Don't know if it's going in their coupe but the sedan is getting it and a rumored 8 speed auto box. What are your thoughts?

More horsepower, but less torque, and I don't see any mention of gas mileage, though I don't think we should be too worried given the kinds of numbers coming out of Mustang 5.0s with just a tune. If Ford feels the need to, they can change the tune one year and maybe beef up a component here and there to make sure it'll all hold up. Also, haven't there been rumors of Direct Injection possibly coming with the 2014?
Won't go in the Coupe. Entry-level luxo-barge is not a cross-shop for a Mustang anyways.
Still a Hyundai and so, as good as the engine can be, it's the crap box that surrounds it that will ultimately say I should buy the Mustang.
Pricing too, this day in age, the Mustang doesn't really seem overpriced to me. With all the advancements I'd almost beg to say under priced. I saw a somewhat loaded Z for upper 30's, the Gen is roughing it in the 30's as well. Besides, nothing about a Hyundai says Bad Mother F'er. Maybe if it came with a Top Fuel engine, then it'd say Bad Mother F'er.
All signs point to Mustang.
