My next truck will be a Toyota. I will not buy any other brand pickup.

Ive owned one and my dad has owned another. Both were great and reliable, unlike most of the american cars we have had. Our family almost always picks imports. If I could have bought a Tacoma or an Acura TL I wouldn't have a mustang right now.

So far we have had a 95 4runner, 04 Accord, 07 Odyssey, 09 Highlander, 05 Highlander, 03 Tundra, and 05 G35. Then our american cars include a POS olds 88, my old 67 mustang, 01 mustang, 03 mustang, and 64 GMC.

Sorry to ressurect the thread.

I finally received my 2011 F-150 Platinum 6,2 5,5ft bed.
I really LOVE it. Good materials, smooth and easy ride.
Throttle is magnificent it seems like big sized Mustang, every time i accelerate - it seems like this monster is trying to spit out it's rear axle.
And it drifts.....trully.

I think Toyota is the best buy for people who are looking for a basic transport from point A to point B and who keep their cars for a long time. They’re reliable, economical and most of all – they have a great resale value. Sure, they’re boring to drive (and to look at), but not everybody is looking for a BMW 3-Series type of excitement.
My 18-years-old Camry has close to 200,000 miles on it and it’s been the most reliable car that I’ve ever owned. I paid only $5,300 for it 10 years ago and only issue that I had it one replaced radiator. I would definitely buy one again.

I think it’s pretty impressive that after everything Toyota went through over the past few years – they’re still #1 in the world. Majority of companies would be either asking for government help or be long gone if they went through similar things.

Concerning japaneese brands - previously i was Honda-Acura fan, I've owned Honda Civic 5D 2007 (european), Honda Accord TypeS 2008, Acura TL 2004, Acura MDX 2003, MDX 2005, RDX 2007 and my wife still rides RDX 2010.

I DO think that Honda fits me better than Toyota - all Toyota vehicles seems to be identical - no DRIVE feeling, nothing to get out of it after a ride and say - it was AMAZING.

Old Honda - Prelude, Integra etc. DID provide that feeling.
But now i switched to Ford. Mustang brings much more this AMAZING and DRIVE feeling. And now F-150 that feels just as good and provides plenty of storage and utility.

Toyota Camry & Prius V score poorly in new IIHS test

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ash-tests.html

Prius V

'13 Toyota Camry

the dummy's position in relation to the door frame, steering wheel, and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was not maintained well.
During the crash, the dummy's head barely contacted the frontal airbag before sliding off to the left as the steering column moved to the right. The seat belt allowed the dummy to move too far forward, as is evident from the gap between the seat back and the dummy's torso, and the head hit the instrument panel. The side curtain airbag did not extend far enough forward toward the A-pillar.
Intrusion into the occupant compartment was extensive. The door hinge pillar began to tear as the wheel and tire was pushed back, and this intrusion combined with that of the parking brake pedal and instrument panel contributed to a moderate risk of injuries to the left lower leg, ankle, and heel.

'13 Fusion

The dummy's position in relation to the door frame, steering wheel, and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was maintained reasonably well.
The dummy’s head contacted the frontal airbag but then slid off the left side. The side curtain airbag extended far enough forward toward the A-pillar to protect the head from contact with forward side structure.
Except for door hinge pillar deformation, intrusion into the driver's space was reasonably well controlled, and risk of injuries to the dummy's legs and feet was low.

Toyota unstoppable? I thought the "sudden acceleration" issue was resolved?
Those crash test result pics are scary. Should be a wake up call to the zombies who "drive" Camrys around here. Pay attention and drive carefully or you'll end up like that, dummy!

This article is in Serbian, but basically - Toyota's global sales are up 22% this year, despite slow sales in China (due to the conflict between China and Japan).
Toyota will sell 9.7 million vehicles this year, which will make it the best selling car company in the world by a wide margin ... GM and Volkswagen continue to fight for the #2 position, with GM having a small lead after 9 months this year.
