The nerve of this pompus twit.
Well they seem to be doing ok, and we all know that Mercedes is doing quiet well with the M-class just right down the road.
I wont ever be buying a toyota, and I bet you dont visit the south anytime soon either do ya.

I was shocked and appalled by this morons ignorance. This is going to backfire on him and rightfully so.
This seals the deal. I will NEVER even consider touching a toyota unless it means pulling the lever to crush one.
Come on Mr. Watanabe, why don't you come here and see what happens

but does it really surprise you? I don't know much about Ontario's education system, but I do know about Alabama and Mississippi's education systems, and they're basically a joke.
I mean I love our state (although not all the right wing conservatives and hardcore bible beaters), but that just goes to show that something is wrong down here if we offered twice as much money to bring Toyota here and they declined!

But as Scott mentioned why have other automakers built plants down there?

I understand all that, I should have clarified to mean if other manufactures have built plants in the south, and said plant produces quality products why wouldn't others follow based not only on the competition, but factors you bring up.

who knows, maybe we really are a bunch of backward rednecks that need picture books? ![Big Grin](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
seriously though, this state has some serious issues and is backwards in many aspects.
i know this is off topic, but just to show you how backwards it is. one of my biggest issues is how the southern baptists and other bible thumpers are voting "NO LOTTO" and no gambling. Well guess where these assocations having been getting their money? The Mississippi gambling commissions run by the american indians that own the casinos!
these people are taking what is probably considered "dirty" money from gambling, and USING it to prevent gambling in our own state. what kind of sense does that make? So guess what Tennessee, Georgia and Florida high school students say to alabama? "Thanks for the free education, stinkers!"

That makes a lot of sense.![Bs](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/bs.gif)
Alabamians are qualified to build the International Space Station, but not a Toyota Corolla.

I e-mailed one of the local morning shows about it. Beaner and Ken on 100.5. Beaner is usually a highly opinionated person and he cant stand stuff like this so i'm sure he will bring it up at some point. If nothing else, its going to **** a few southern'rs off at 'yota and cost em a few sales.

I think Toyota needs to get their story straight. From Toyota.com:
It's been just over a year since the first Toyota V8 engine came off the line at our Huntsville, Alabama plant and, thanks to the great work of our team members and the support from the local community, we're revving up our Alabama operations even more. We're doubling our investment here to almost half a billion dollars and increasing capacity at our plant to 400,000 engines per year. It means more jobs, more growth and a stronger local economy. Toyota and Alabama – a powerful partnership that's growing even stronger.
