Hi,

I know that quite a few members here like the BBC show Top Gear so thought i'd share this bit of info.
In "Classic American" magazine this month, Richard Hammond is featured, along with his Dodge Charger, anyway, at the end of the article he says that he's selling his car because he does'nt get enough time to enjoy it, apparently,he's due to start filming a series called "Top Gear USA", this is the version that will be shown across America, to be shown on the Discovery channel, not BBC America,
Top Gear is, and i quote, now seen all around the world , by a worldwide audience of more than a billion people, it looks like they're trying to break into the American market to finally make it truly a global show.
Sorry, there's no mention in the article about the format of the show, just that it's going to be the U.S. version.

Regards,

Angus.

Sweet! I hope its with the same hosts though, and not a completely newly filmed show. i guess America and Europe don't share all their car models and the subject matter of the two versions would probably be different, but those three guys are awesome. Wouldn't be the same without them.

Hi,

yeah i'm sorry that there's no more information in the article, it's mainly about his Charger to be honest.
i think we'll have to get James (jgsmuzzy) to see if he can find out any more info, he's normally really good at that sort of thing.
i hope for you guys that it's the same presenters as we get here as well, i don't think it'd be the same without Jeremy Clarkson at least!

Regards,

Angus.

As I said to Angus, this was news to me as well. If I find out anything else about it, it will get posted!

Sounds good, the discovery channel needs more new shows... I can only watch the same episode of biker build off or... american choppers or american hot rod so many times.

UH!!! I cant stand watching american hot rod!! Its always the same, they start a project then donkey doughnut boyd picks some rediculious time table to get it done and then there are problems....uh! If you have that much "pull" in the industry dont you think you could set your own time table for cars being completed???

Great news.

Although I'm not holding out much hope as I expect it to be a watered down version of the British series.

American auto media stinks donkey d**k...especially 'Greedvision'.
