I have a 1988 ford F250 long bed 4x4 pickup. It has the 5.8 liter engine and an automatic trans. I have done a complete tune up, compression checks good and it has had new fuel pumps installed within the last year. the mileage has continued to go down and is now down to under 7mpg. Does anyone have any idea what is going on. It used to get 13-15 when I bought it a few years ago. it only has 80k miles on it. Any and all help would be appreciated. If I can't get this thing straightened out, I am going to sell the truck as I can't afford to own something that gets this terrible of mileage and is pretty much a daily driver. Thanks.

it might be running lean(if the exhaust smells strongly like fresh gas its a good sign)...but i dont know how to fix this, its an injector computer problem, its not regulating the air/fuel mixture...good luck findin the problem
by the way...i know someone who owns a 460 that gets 4mpg...lol
