Well, Ive decided to Fix up my 85 T-bird. The problem is a lack of informative information. Unlike Mustangs, Camaros, etc. etc. even darn Tauruses, their is an incredible lack of intrest in this particular body style of bird. No websites, clubs, nothing. So,does anyone have any knowledge and / or expeirience with the body style of bird, affectionately known as aerobirds?

Please help.

They were the Ford NASCAR body for their time, I'd suggest looking there for inspiration.

I wrecked one up on my 16th birthday!!
My parents car- and my first day to drive alone. ANd I tried to hide it- I hit a tree stump, and bent up the motor and the hood wouldnt close all the way.
To make a long story short- after that, I didn't get a car for six months I got in so much trouble.

What do you need to do to it to fix it back up?

*cough* www.tccoa.com *cough*

This is where I spend most of my time as I own a '95 T-Bird. Anything you need, they will have an answer for in the forums or tech. articles.

I used to have an 87 bird with a 5.0 liter, mechanically they are amost identical to a fox body mustang, they just have longer wheelbase and wider track width.
BTW the first upgrade you should consider is to swap out the 7.5 rearend for an 8.8 out of a mustang. the 7.5 is the same anemic rearend that was used in the Pinto and has no bussiness in a 3800 pound car behind a V-8

My mom had an 86 Turbo-coupe w/ a 5-speed. That car was so much fun to drive. I wish you luck on your quest for information. I've owned several T-Birds (1964, 1965, 1966, 1977, 1979, 1992) and I have a 1970 that my parents bought new when I was 2. If you had a 1970 or earlier I could point you to dozens of places for information, but I don't know much about the aero-birds, except that they were kick bootie.
