97svtgoin05gt, I think you nail it on many points. Ford, indeed, is playing a belated catch-up game with many handicaps from previous management, planning and development missteps. Ford's certainly not out of the games, but they don't seem to have any clear aces in their hand either and they better play the cards they do have a lot better than they have been.
For DCX, however, the situation seems about the opposite. Many of their decisions have come together beautifully with a resultant very strong and profitable product line. DCX now has a very strong hand to play with and they seem to show no signs of letting up.
As for GM, well, perhaps a Chapter 11 might be the best thing to finally dislodge their ossified management beauracracy and labor arrangements. Currently, they have a very poor management trying to carry a very heavy load (labor related expenses and obligations) up a very steep competitive slope. There are glimmers of brilliance (Solstice) drowned out by a pall of bufoonery.
