So what did you think of Top Gear?
well, i finally tried to watch another episode. i was using my parents comcast on demand and thought i'd make an attempt. i went with the GM cars that are out of production episode, because it seemed, from the description, to be the most interesting
now let me preface my opinion of the show by a quick story. my friend dan has a friend from his high school days who lives far away now. occasionally we play call of duty with him online, but ive never actually met the man. now this dude is pretty vulgar. he once texted dan a picture of a crap he took, and dan being the sympathetic man he is, shared it with the world.
but it least i laughed. this show isn't even as entertaining as that
i seriously could not watch the episode. i stopped right when they cut to the studio to do "the news" which is absolutely garbage without anyone intelligent on the staff. every time one of them spoke, i just got annoyed. the tv is offf now, and i'm reveling in the silence
even american pickers isnt this bad. time to watch some real top gear

Its still better than jersey shore. I think it got a little better towards the end of the season. My guess is the producers are trying too hard to make it like uk's. I did enjoy parts of the alaska episode.

Maybe its just me, but 1st episode of TG UK (season 16) was horrible.
Porsche 911 again? And Skoda Yeti? I mean, I don't have anything against Skoda Yeti, I happen to like to, but if they're gonna do a review on a cheap car do it on something some interesting, like a Citroen DS3 or Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

I kept waiting for a big gag at the end of the Yeti segment, like it driving off a cliff or something, but the shoe never dropped. All I could think of for 5 minutes after that bit was "seriously, they just did a straight segment on how awesome the Skoda Yeti is?" and it really put me in a bad mood for the rest of it.
They could really punch things up with realistic test drives and have real drivers sit down and talk with them...

What if Tanner is the (American) Stig? Good luck with TG USA and the "more interesting cars" bit. Unless they start testing performance vehicles from America's "cottage industry".

Yeah, I thought about that too and I'm pretty sure he is.
Well, none of those vehicles that TG UK brought were actually British ... they're all owned by foreign companies.
Plus, Viper ACR is faster on the track than any European production car.

True, however TG UK seems to get earlier access to the latest vehicles simply because "it is closer to home". Not totally against TG USA doing a review of a vehicle already done by TG UK - but there is no doubt there are some interesting (high performance) cars available in the US that not many have heard of.

Over hyped... Isn't one of the guys always getting his rear kicked by Paul Tracy on another car show? I stopped watching it after that one episode where they were trying to drive these pieces of junk measuring how many drinks they could carry wo spilling it.....
