Saturn Eyes a Baby Vette?

Its the Opel GT in Europe. If we are lucky, very lucky, GM may be wising up and bringing Opel products to the US under the Saturn moniker. My prediction[hope]; the new Saturn sedan range will be the Euro Vectra. Intact hopefully. Oh, and according to what I've read Saturn is doing away with the plastic/composite body panels. The Sky is of steel construction.

It uses the all-new Knappa (sp?) chassis that the 06 Pontiac Solstice will also use.
It seems as if the Saturn will have more standard features.
From what I've read the Sky was indeed designed in Europe. As a matter of fact the Opel version broke cover first. I remember it being stated at the time that it was rumored to be offered in the US as the Sky. No matter though, looks as if finally we are getting some decent product from the domestics. Just took a look at the Saturn Aura concept and oh yes its got unmistakable Opel/Vauxhall styling cues. Looks to be the size of the cobalt though. Wonder if its the replacement for the Ion.
every single car looks good slammed with big wheels on it. Let the bean counters get to one before final judgement. They will chop about $15,000 out of the way that car looks to a production model.
Look on Page 2
This car looks great IMO. Can't wait to see it in Philly!

I'm seeing a lot of "chatter" here regarding the new Saturns unveiled at Detroit, which says essentially, "What we see ain't what we'll get." Given the industry's somewhat spotty record of taking concept cars to production intact, your concerns are understandable.
So let me put your fears to rest right here, right now.
The Aura, as far as the sheet-metal is concerned, is 100 percent production-ready, right down to the size of the tires. And that also goes for much of the interior. The thing is ready to go. And the Sky, of course, isn't a concept car at all. That is the full, no-excuses, what-you-see-is-what-you-get production vehicle. We're playing for keeps.

lol away with the nice interior materials, wheels, exhaust, lighting, engine detail, etc..... Something tells me its the difference between a master detailed model and someone who sticks together the kit unpainted. Same 'sheet metal'.....
Still, they are saying the production car will look just like that. And, if true, that is a great thing. Of course the details won't be anywhere as good, but at least they are promising it won't be another Charger-like fiasco.
Now, whether or not they live up to that is a different story.
