The return of Citroen 2CV?

I giggled when I read the title. I kinda like the rear, but the front would be a lot nice without that stupid upside down U of LEDs above the headlight.
the side is a bit overstyled for me, but I guess what with the name and all, they're trying to be a bit in your face.

I wouldn't say I care, but I'm interested
The original is an odd little car. Many, many years ago, when I was in college, a friend had the Dyane model (slightly more angular, even more ugly!!). I just couldn't drive the thing.......the weird gearstick poking out from under the dashboard like an umbrella meant I couldn't find the gears. Very weird.
However, I love the simplicity of the things. Remember the original was designed so that a French peasant could drive one over a ploughed field without cracking any eggs in his basket. That alone means its reserved a place in my memory bank of weird car related stuff
Utility in its most simple form!
As for the rendering above? Looks neat, and I'd like to see it one the road.......even if it shares nothing with the original's ethics, although it does share the odd styling cue.

I'd rather have this than the New Beetle any day of the week. Minus the silly LED strips, of course. IMO, like BMW's "halos"/"angel eyes", when ricers start putting those in their headlight housings, it's time to move in a different design direction.

Its a French car, its supposed to be comfortable, even when its a cheap basic car like 2CV.

Most of French cars are boring, especially Peugeots and most of Renaults, but I love Citroens.
If I ever return to Europe (which I most likely will in few years, my wife doesn't really like the life in the USA), this is gonna be my next car - Citroen DS3. There are two engine choises, 1.6L turbo 154 hp (there is also DS3 Racing rated at 200 hp), but my choice would be a 1.6L diesel - 78 mpg.
