Power Hike for 2011 V6 Camaro?

So, whether intentional or not, the 2011 Mustang V6 is 305 HP, 1 more than the 2010 V6 Camaro (rated at 304 HP). Would be funny if for 2011 the Camaro V6 was advertised as 306 HP. Then maybe in 2012 the V6 Mustang could be 307 HP. lol.

I think the pony car wars are just heating up! I can't see Chevy sitting on their hands while Ford matches them under the hood, whether in V6 or V8 flavors. Guaranteed you'll see a 5%+ bump in power for the Camaro's motors for '11.

Not sure how aggressively Dodge will compete. There is talk of a bigger Hemi (6.4 or something), so perhaps that will go into the SRT and the current SRTs 6.1 will migrate down to the RT. It's still a heavy if pretty beast though, guess we'll have to wait for its redesign for a truly competitive model.

It would have to be more than a few horsepower to overcome the Camaro's inherent weight disadvantage. Don't know how they can pull that off and improve fuel economy ratings (or worse, it drops).

All they need is 2 hp 2 mpg more to claim victory. It's a numbers game more consumers know about more than HP to weight. Underdriven pulley and remapped computer can do that fairly easy. Better flowing exhaust, lower gear ratios (numerically), lightening etc are just some of the options. It doesn't have to be drastic mind you. Freeing up HP in such a way generally increases hp and gas mileage. They just have this "You Decide" campaign so all they need is selling points. Why do you think the LS3 originally rated at 422 hp ended up with 426 (1 over Dodges 425 hp) instead. It's all about marketing. Of course they could just copy SLP's formula with the 327 hp version of the V6 Camaro to revive a famous GM number. It's what I'd do.
