copycats! just kidding! if this engine pans out and GM starts throwing performance oriented versions in their vehicles, it could be like the turbo Buick V6 all over again - except GM/Chevy won't try to "hide" it this time.

Yeah, I think they need to do a little more research and development before they delve into a twin turbo v-6. Look what happens when they try one with a single turbo, lol.

I read the article and that over boost scenario is kind of strange. On any given FI system there should be a bypass valve set to open if pressure rises over a certain level, aka blow off/discharge valve. And on most factory turbochargers they also have like a plunger with a preset spring pressure on the hot side to avoid pressure buildup from the exhaust gases. It's kind of weird

That's an odd problem given the boosted ecotec has been doing fine for a while now. As did the SC 3800's.

Heard of Mazdaspeed (3) DISI engines blowing up sometimes too because of a "hiccup" in the electronic tuning resulting in very lean A/F ratio conditions.
