A lot of people forget that there were chevelle sedans and wagons as well...
if they can build a coupe in addition to the sedan, it will be a good way of ressurecting the name

4-door Charger huh? It looks like Chrysler didn't learn from GM's GTO mistake--don't screw with a legend.

The 300 is very true to its heritage except for the 300C tag...it should be 300L (or maybe 300M since the 300M didn't have 300hp like every other 300...but thats another story)...a very powerful luxury car, and it looks like a 300.
As for the 2007 Charger Sedan...according to the C&D pic, it does not look like a Charger...at least what many people consider their favorite Charger, the '68-'70 Charger(If you like the way any of the other Chargers look like, that's fine, but expect some strange looks). I don't think a coupe version will be much better, but I want to be wrong, I want to be very wrong...
And as a sidenote, I love the old Mopar muscle cars

It's not hating. Taking away two doors does little to change the overall shape and that's what I think is ugly.Like I said, what if they redesigned the Mustang and came up with the 49 concept? Some would like it, some would hate it, but noone would be able to say it should be called a Mustang.

Dan,
apparently it is almost dead-on to the production model.
Apparantley a very stunning car, which could be lost in the green color and crease in the page. Plus it is a drawing, it can be off a bit, the proportions not right, etc.
I'll reserve judgement unitl 2006 NAIAS

Thing is steve, it may look nice, but they make a Charger out of a 300C. I mean, no matter what you do to it, it will still have the proportions of a 300C. The car may be okay for a full size sedan, but for a sports car? I mean, its way too big IMO.
For me, sports/muscle cars should be more of an athletic size than that.
But, I will reserve some judgement for NAIAS.
Well, if they're serious about this car, they won't make it as porky as the 300. 340hp won't go too far in a car that weighs two tons. :notnice:
Then, what's even the point of driving an expensive, ugly car if it doesn't go that fast? It's certainly not heritage because this Charger doesn't evoke thoughts of old.

[/b][/quote]Dan,the chargers of old were full size cars. They were in no way sports cars.

Well, at least we know what it looks like now. Glad to have it confirmed.

Did it occur to us that back in the day, the cool Darts, Challengers, Chargers, Novas etc started life out as Granny cars? Bet Grandma never thought her car of yesteryear would be hotly coveted in the present!
Keeping in mind, today's granny car is anything buick or bigger Oldladymobile(intrigue aurora)

Wheres the imagination in Ford's new 'F in the Name' campaign?
Wheres the imagination in Ford's new 'F in the Name' campaign?
They have used a horse theme for names: Mustang, Pinto, Bronco...
They have used exploration/travel for names: Explorer, Taurus, Expedition, Probe...
when i went to dodges website they have a totally different looking Charger...that really look alot more promising... is this just not up dated or what....?
this is the info they give on the car....
i found that at: http://www.dodge.com/dodge_life/past_and_f...80&type=textNav
is this just old news

Along with the name, we also brought back the heritage that made Charger R/T a legend. This concept car advances four-door style into an entirely new dimension. True to the original muscle car form, Charger R/T, with its low, thrusting hood, has a powerful V8 matched with a five-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. The front grille and lamps look menacing. The body is taut. The rear deck with spoiler, and the fascia with sly-looking taillamps and twin exhaust outlets, all signify a vigorous departure from the past. In true retro form, 1966 meets the millennium. One look at the radio ***** and three-spoke steering wheel will confirm that. The pistol-grip shift lever adds to the feeling.
Throughout this interior past and future, street and racing are balanced. Exposed metal is emphasized -- but the front and rear bucket seats are made of carbon fiber and have red leather accents. Because the Charger R/T is supercharged, the 4.7-liter SOHC, 16-valve, V8 engine has the kind of ferocity that results in 325 horsepower.
But Charger R/T is environmentally gentle -- its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel produces negligible emissions at the tail pipes.

yep, that is the old charger concept, not the new one, dodge needs to scrap that one...

I love those cars but the charger should be completely different.
