There's lots of rumors, wishful thinking, and "prototypes" made by Camaro fans, who are sad that their favorite model is dead and buried. People get the story wrong when they see these fan prototypes passed around on the web and think they are the real thing from GM. But no official GM prototypes or product plans have been seen so far.
GM tries to keep the hope alive and maybe stop some people from defecting and buying a new Mustang by hinting to the press that there may be a chance of a new Camaro...
But so far what is there that is real and concrete from GM? Nothing.... Only that the Mustang is a hit and still going strong and has GM and Camaro fans envious.

The Problem with bringing the new Camaro to market, its that future American vehicles were "put on hold" to push forward the development of new trucks, which GM has too many of anyway. The Zeta platfore on which these new RWD cars were to be based on is still being developed for the 2008 GTO, and its Holden derivatives, to be sold in Australia and the Middle East. The zeta was also seen to be a bit too crude for NA standards.

^ i do mostly agree with you guys, but i also like a bit of friendly rivalry too. me and my friends joke about whats better all the time, not seriously though, just for kicks.
