My "new" truck

Just added this to the stable. 84 S-10 Blazer 4wd 2.8L v6 w auto trans. Has been since new in the family. The last owners were my late Grandfather that then gave it to my dad, and now he gave it to me. The outside has seen better days, but the interior is pretty nice for it's vintage. It's bone stock, but that will probably change later
Here are some pics I took this morning:

89,266 original miles. It has less mileage than my Mazda lol.
Inmediate plans for it are bolting back teh parts that it has laying around, since it's been parked for two years. It's funny bec. there's nothing wrong with it. It was stopped to replace a persistent leak on the transmissions pump. That was done three times already by my grandpa, my dad and later me and my dad. Upon closer inspection, the pump itself was the culprit bec it scored the seal area of the torque converter and I replaced both of them. It has remained unfinished since that time. Just needs to bolt back the front driveshaft, center console w the 4wd lever, the tv cable to be correctly routed back up, and the air cleaner w hoses and the radio bezel w a radio. All that happened when both of my parents fell ill and I didn't had the time to put it back toghether since then I took charge of everything in the house. Now they are better, thank God. In appreciation for that, my father gave the truck to me. Love ya Dad!

I would love to lift it and do that, but on the meantime, I'll just put her back on the road and fix the body. Heck, I'll try my luck on painting it myself w help from my dad. All red FTW!

Shenanigans. No way those pink wheels are bone stock, nor those huge pedals, or that air freshener. And definitely not that pinchacover on the steering wheel.

I've had plenty of those things (86,89,93), fun to tinker with, cheap, parts aplenty. Hint, if the front wheels won't engage check the vacuum canister on the passenger side fenderwell happened on just about every 4x4 sblazer I've seen. Be nice n easy to swap a 4.3 or even a SBC, LT1 or LS1 these days. congrats.

Thanks for the info, and yes, anything can be done to it on the engine department. But I'll leave it as is, for now.

I already have a book that lists the parts for the v8 swap, and I've been around their website some times The only "special" component needed for it is the oil pan that it's made to clear the front differential. Ah, you guys are already making me think about it!

What I would do if I were you, is use that as your DD while you sell your other two cars and buy a Cobra... Or maybe that's just because I've been obsessing over 96-98 Cobras for the last few weeks. :P

If I sell them all, I'll get an s197 instead. Much better car all around.

Thanks Sean. 85mph "max speed" yeah, right. That thing struggles to reach 65mph That 2.8L was meant for low end torque Although, it can be stroked up to 3.1L pretty cheap. Just pick up from the junkyard a crank w rods from a Lumina or anything that has one of those.

Not really, at least mechanically. The bodywork is not that bad at all, if you compare it to my old cherokee that had the complete passenger floor rusted through If I was able to fix that, this should be a piece of cake.

I used fiberglass to fix up that Jeep, and the hole on the roof on the Blazer was fixed the same, but since it was on primer only, rust showed again
