My Challenger R/T test drive
I have admired the Challenger since it's inception. Also, after owning a Magnum SRT8, and being very impressed with it and longing for a 6-speed manual, I knew I had to at least drive one.
I test drove a Tor-red '10 Challenger R/T 6-speed manual 5.7 375hp.
Sticker price was $$33,500(ish).
Exterior:
You either like it or you don't. Personally, the E-body Mopar has always been one of my favorites. The R/T had black fender stripes and chrome 20's.
Engine:
The 5.7 is actually pretty impressive. It had a nice growl, was very smooth, and I felt very comperable to my GT when it was stock. Some bolt on mods, and I think it would be a real entertaining pkg.
Ride/suspension:
Extremely quiet cabin. Feels very tight, and road noise is almost absent. Feels very solid, lbeit a bit soft in the suspension department. I would probably opt for Eibach springs and firmer dampers. However, for spririted street use it felt pretty adequate.
Brakes:
In this area I was a bit unimpressed. The brakes felt a bit overwhelmed to me, not at all like my SRT8 which had Brembos.
Transmission:
The 6-speed w/pistol grip was slick as could be. Made me want to upgrade my GT to a 6-speed. Clutch felt a bit soft, but I'm used to a Spec 3+.
Overall Impression:
At 33k I think it was a reasonably good value. Build quality was impressve, and performance was adequate enough that I would not be able to justify another 10K for an SRT8.
Nice car, but no plans as of yet to sell my GT. If I had not built an engine, gone F/I etc., than I think I would be tempted to get the R/T just for the sake of change.

Good review. I also like the latest RWD Chrysler products and I'm eager to test drive one too. Specially the Magnum and the 300C.
