In Montreal's Gazette today, there's a section with articles written by all the major canadian auto execs. There's also an article about J.D. Power, which is actually the guys name, and how is surveys of vehicle quality and customer satisfaction have gained respect from all the world's automakers as honest and unbiased.
The last paragraph in the article:

And what kind of car does J.D. Power himself drive?
"A Mercury Marauder with the police package, where it has a larger engine and better suspension. It's big, I'm tall and it's good on the highway."

It says he worked for ford back in the 60s.
