OK Arin, you asked for it! I actually saw two Mustang II's today, and one was even moving!!!

I almost agree with you about the expensive luxury cars being over rated but for me it's a price issue. You want a fast, and I mean fast, luxury cary car? Jaguar and Mercedes can supply you with one. So can BMW. Have you checked out anything by Bentley lately? Also the the Volvo G60 in its hot version. The list could go on but I think you get my point.

But fast alone is not the reason for these cars to exist. It's for the luxury when you don't want to go like a bat out of Hades, which for most most drivers is almost all the time. Oh, and did I mention the so called prestige factor? It's lost on me but it's very real to the people who buy these cars.

Yeah, I saw one of them too last week at Ford dealer before I bought F-150. It was coupe and man, it was ugly. It didn't look that ugly on the pictures.

Yes I am! (Actually a fan of TOS, TNG and Enterprise, Voyager wasn't too bad, couldn't really get into DS9 or as it is also known, "The Gas Station in Space".)

Miss my XR horribly, it was truly a unique vehicle definitely not a "turn the key on and forget it" type of vehicle. She required more TLC than the average car owner would want to give.

Have always been a Rutles Fan, if that is possible. Neil Innes toured last year, but missed him , A friend of mine saw him in Seattle and said that he had played several Rutles tunes.

<_< haha, very amusing.....

and i totally agre, they do make fast cars, but most people i know seem to think that the only way to go fast is thru, say BMW, and that all BMws are that fast. i mean, i know an M5 could burn some rubber, but just cuz you have a 5 Series doesnt make you fast....

and btw, you will all rue the day you ridiculed the II....

There are different meanings when you talk about fast cars. To some, it's simply pure acceleration and times from 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. To others, it's top speed. And to even more people, it's how a car handles and goes on a road course or a twisty road. Some cars can do it all and even transport you in style. The M5 falls into this category, as do a number of other luxo rockets. The drawback is the price so when you find a relatively inexpensive car that can do all this at a fraction of the price, you have to be impresed. I don't care what you think of imports because I like all cars. I put the Subaru WSX and the Mitsubishi Evo in this category. Mustang, too, and a few others as well. I know you guys all hate the French and their cars but you'd be surprised at some of the vehicles they are making now, and Renault will probably win the F1 title this year. We may never again see new Alfa Romeos in the US, and that's a shame. They make my under rated list.

What was that saying?
"All americans care about is 0-60, Europeans care about 0-160"

scottie, thats not exactly what i meant. i said i do realize the potential of AMGs and M5s and such, but what i dislike is when someonewith a plain jane 5 series acts tough, thinking he's up to par with an M5. its the superiority feeling that the run-of-the-mill owners display that irks me.

trust me, i wouldnt turn down a brand spankin new M5.... i'd sell it for mod money on the II!

arin, i knew u were gonna say mustang II was most underrated...lol

heres what i think.....

most overrated: Hummers, Escalades, Range Rovers, & G Wagens...with all the rap music videos and song all they talk about is their escalaeds with 8 gazillion inch spinners...those are waaaay overrated these days

most underrated: i got a few.....first, the 2005 Hundai Sonata. we had it for a rental car in our trip to rhode island...this car was very comfortable, it steered good, and the brakes were unbeleivable (i know cuz i drove it around my uncles n'hood....lol). Next, the Volvo S60 (latest model). My uncles girlfriend had one, and it was very comfortable and great looking. You see them alot up in Rhode Island, but not down here in Alabama. Next, the Honda Accord. We have two 1988 honda accord (not rice), and they have lasted for hundreds of thousands of miles, and they are still running strong. Finally, I agree w/ Arin about the Mustang II, becuase if it werent for the Mustang II, there wouldn't be no fox body mustangs or 2005 mustangs.

Excellent Choice!!!
Forgot all about the Sonata. It's Hyundai I am excited about, because it is a good sign of things to come from that company

I agree. I've already mentioned Kia. Korean car companies are where the Japanese were back in the 60's and 70's, trying to establish a toehold here. I think they've accomplished that. Their quality has gone up tremendously and no one else offers the warranties they do.

They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, and the Accord is not a bad looking car. Not great, mind you, but certainly better than an Aztek! The name of Kis's flagship escapes me at the moment and I'm too lazy to look it up, but the first time I saw one from a distance I almost mistook it for a Mercedes. A frien of mine has one. Nice car.

Yes, Amanti. Thanks. Maybe it was where they were 10 years ago, but today Kia wants to build a quality, comfortable car that is reliable, and they've done that. At this point for them, performance is not a mjor factor but if they succeed in this, who knows what the future will bring.

Witness the Tiburon and all the conjecture that surrounds it. Hmmmm.

Maximas from 10 years ago are really good cars! So Kia must be amazing right now :P
